Home description
Designed specifically for the sports enthusiast, when returning from an active day in the mountains, enter the chalet straight into the spacious boot room. Hang your coat in the drying cupboard and place your boots on the boot warmer. A shower to freshen up, with 500 litres of available hot water – everyone can shower simultaneously. Maybe a sauna to sooth those aching bones or grab a glass of wine and from the hot tub watch the sun set behind the mountains. Fully relaxed, now enjoy a typical Savoyade dinner served at the 12 seater oak dining table and share the adventures of the day. Replete, perhaps time for a ‘digestif’ in front of the roaring log fire before sleep beckons with the promise of tomorrow.
It is ideally located in a tranquil village of Le Biot, just 10 minutes drive from the services and amenities of the lively market town of Morzine, one of the key centres of the vast Porte du Soleil ski area, one of the largest inter-connected ski areas in the world. The smaller ski areas of St Jean d’Aulps and Drouzin, ideal for beginners, are even closer
Flexible accommodation - the chalet can be hired caterd or self caterd :
as a whole, 370m squared, sleeping up to 24 with 2 spacious lounges and 2 luxury kitchens. This allows large parties the space to spread out with children watching the latest movie in one lounge with the adults having a quiet drink in the other.
or as two separate self contained units each sleeping 12. Each unit is divided by a central staircase with lockable doors. Each unit has its own separate access and front door and terrace. Each floor is separated by sound proofed concrete.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region
Chalet Lisborg is set in the heart of the largest ski area in the world providing easy access to both the French and Swiss ski resorts of the Porte Du Soleil. Given the majestic mountains, tumbling rivers and beautiful woodland it is easy to appreciate why the whole area is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty. Whilst Le Biot is a tranquil village, served by 2 restaurants, bakery and tabac, there are numerous charming Savoyarde towns offering a very wide selection of activities and amenities. Morzine and Les Gets are perhaps the most widely known towns and are very unlike the many aesthetically challenged, purpose built French ski resorts. They are traditional alpine market towns which have retained their historical charm and are now well served with restaurants, bars and shopping facilities.
St Jean d'Aulps area
Skiing The chalet is ideally placed to provide swift access to a number of ski stations, which then link to the Portes du Soleil network. To get the most out of this area for those flying from the UK, we would recommend hiring a car at the airport. Ski buses do operate throughout the area however, especially with children and long skis, we have never entertained them. Your own transport will allow you to explore the area and provide you with the freedom to choose the ski station and snow conditions that best suit your needs. Any one resort will provide extensive skiing however the linked Portes du Soleil network provides limitless options. Circular routes for example enable you to depart in France, lunch in Switzerland and return to your start point without every having to ski the same run twice! Extensive investment in chairlifts and snow cannons have ensured that even during the busiest periods queues are minimal and the lowest slopes always in the best possible condition.
Walking and hiking: Quite a number of well-placed chairlifts still operate out of the ski season to enable walkers to use their energy traversing the slopes rather than walking uphill! Level walking around the lakes and rivers is less arduous and just as breath taking with staggering gorges and waterfalls punctuating your journey. Themed accompanied walks ie local history, fauna and flora, are widely available booked through the village tourist offices.
Mountain biking and cycling: Mountain bikers have all the variety and challenge they could wish for. There are 380kms of marked and graded trails through unsurpassed scenery and 24 lifts available to take the grind out of the climb. In September 2004 Morzine hosts the world mountain bike championships.
Road racing: another French passion. The villages of the Portes de Soleil are regular stages for the Tour de France (July) as well as the Tour De Swisse (June) and Criterium de Daupine Libere (June). For the real enthusiasts there is the Col de Toux Plane (1687m) 10.5kms with an average gradient of 8.6% and the Col de Ramay (1619m) 14.3km with an average gradient of 6.9%
Golf The region has seven 18-hole golf courses, three 9-hole courses and a crazy golf course five minutes from the chalet in St Jean d’Aulps. Each course provides a variety of choices for the beginner to the pro golfer, with each tee played amidst some of the most spectacular scenery in Europe. For the keen golfer there is a golfing pass available, which allows you five different green fees and to select from eleven courses in the area.
Parapenting: Launching yourself off a mountain to ride the thermals is not everyone’s idea of fun but can be experienced safely, in tandem with one of the many accredited French instructors.
White water rafting and hydro-speeding: With full padded wet suit, hurtling down one of the crystal clear mountain rivers with sheer cliffs and blue sky above was an unexpected highlight for us.
Quad biking: There are numerous centres where ‘children’ of all ages, under supervision can negotiate the wet and muddy tracks. Do take spare clothes you’ll need them!
Fishing: Lake and river fishing is abundant. Many of the lake fish are served as delicacies in the local restaurants.
Ballooning over the Alps: Need advanced booking.

Guestbook
The chalet is brand new however below are comments from previous guest of our other chalet in Le biot
Our break was fantastic, we totally adored Chalet Lisborg and the local area. We discovered some fantastic walks and views and managed to cover some 60 miles on foot during the week. We feel priviliged to have experienced the chalet and would love to return - we found it very hard to leave! Many thanks & best of luck with Chalet Verchin. Tony & Jo.
We had a great time - wow, what a lot there is to do in the area. We packed in as much as we could, and it was gratifying to see our kids stretch their limits. The house is lovely (so warm and embracing), and you did a fine job putting it together so quickly. Tanya and Graham,
We've had a great holiday, your chalet is fantastic. I think it's the sort of place that once you' ve been you want to come back to again and again. We'll certainly recommend it. Tracy
The chalet was perfect and the recommendations that you gave us for skiing areas were also excellent. Ian Matheson
Hi Richard The Chalet was absolutely beautiful, & we would definitely be looking at going there again. Leesa Boysen
Just wanted to say that we had a fantastic time in France and loved your chalet. The views were amazing and we are now missing the mountains! Followed a lot of your suggestions for trips and enjoyed the medieval fair at St Jean d’Aulps. Richard and Denise Cockrem.
We had a super time, with superb weather and the chalet provided a great base from which to explore this lovely region. Mary Levy Chance.
Got back yesterday from France, just wanted to let you know we had a fantastic time and the Chalet was excellent - with chocolate boxviews. I assume you spend some time there yourself as it seems more like a home than most rentals. Allan Warbuton
..........and to say that we all had a fantastic time, those that wanted to ski enjoyed the slopes of Col du Corbierre, and the early snow made for a spectacular "White Christmas" !!! The Honours
I just thought I'd let you know that we had a wonderful holiday in your chalet in Le Biot. It really is a lovely chalet and a beautiful area, with so much to do. I think I've caught the 'alps in the summer' bug, if there is such a thiing! Thanks for the walk suggestions that you left us - we had a lovely jaunt up Mt Ouzon, and several walks in the Morzine vicinity - but still lots to do! I imagine you never need to do the same walk twice?! Anne Horribin
Thanks for the use of the Chalet last week - it was very comfortable and exactly as described and a great setting - Peter Cameron
Just a quick note to say that we had the most fantastic fortnight and to thank you for the use of your lovely chalet. We Quad Biked, Luged, Aquaparked, Fantasticabled, played tennis most days.....generally had a great time--Emma Sorrenson
Just got back home yesterday and just wanted to say what a great time we all had.The Chalet was very relaxing, a real home from home and had everything we could need.-Jason Mitson
Just wanted to thank you for letting us all stay at the chalet. It was fantastic!!! We all had an amazing time and an holiday we wont be forgetting in a long time. I had the blues yesterday as i couldnt stop thinking about the view from the bedroom window!! Laxima Budalia
Just a quick note to say we had a great time in Le Biot. Chalet was superb, great location. The scenery in the whole area is breathtaking with fantastic mountain walks. Phil west
The chalet was perfect and the recommendations that you gave us for skiing areas were also excellent. Rob Reade
