Home description
This is vine country. Enjoying its own micro climate, and is the second sunniest region in France, next to the Cote d'Azure. Our stone and beam cottages are well equipped and modern inside. We offer a safe enviroment for children to play, being enclosed . The pool area is also enclosed with a safety gates. Lots of open lawns and trees for children to amuse themselves.

The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Charente Maritime region
The Charente Maritime has its own micro-climate, making this the second sunniest region of France next to the Cote d'Azure, with around 2600 hours of sunshine a year. Louzignac is just a short drive from the ancient town of Cognac, with its distilleries to visit. Our own wine co-operative with visits, and wine selling at 2.4 euros a bottle. Saintes and St. Jean d,Angely and Matha all have lovely restaurants, with seafood and particularly oysters. The Atlantic beaches are an hours drive away, with the islands of Re and Olleron, the beaches all along the coast, La Palmyre Zoo set in the forest just off the beach.
St Jean d'Angely / Louzignac area
St. Jean d'Angely with its park and lake next to the river Boutonne, Atlantis swimming complex next to the park, and quaint squares, lovely restaurants - making a lovely day out. Saintes with its boat trips , Roman remains, and lots of shopping and markets. Louzignac is set amidst vines - and yet more vines. With four working vineyards still in the village. Come at harvest time, beginning the second week of September, when the weather is still lovely. Thors - five minutes has boating lake with restaurant overlooking. The area is lovely biking country, not really challenging, so a real family activity.
