A spacious 3 bedroomed house situated in the peaceful countryside. The child friendly enclosed garden, leads to another garden with swimming pool. The outside space is ideal for relaxing and al fresco dining. Relaxing in the garden you might see deer, wild boar or red squirrels. A family of partridges have been known to stay in the adjacent garden!
The entrance hall/dining room leads to a large well equipped kitchen. Across from this is the lounge which features a wood burning stove The hall/dining room and lounge have high ceilings with beams.
The downstairs bathroom has large walk in shower, wash basin and toilet.
Upstairs there are two double bedrooms and a larger room with single beds. Another shower room with basin and toilet is also upstairs.
Both gardens give plenty of space to relax, sunbathe or enjoy a barbeque.

In the large enclosed front garden you can sit and enjoy the local aperitif, Pineau de Charente. A large garden table with chairs makes this an ideal spot for al fresco dining. This is a good spot for bird watching and star gazing. A great base for walking and cycling across the country trails and through the forests.
A short drive takes you to Aulnay with supermarket, shops, and a Sunday market. A little further on to the town of St Jean d'Angely which has a wide variety of excellent restaurants, supermarkets and a Saturday market.
This is a good area for a relaxing holiday with ample sightseering opportunites.

Arrival at the property is 4pm and departure time is 10am.
A security deposit of £300, is required returnable 10 days after departure.

This area of France is reported to have the 2nd highest level of sunshine in the country.
The region has a rural farming feel to it, with agriculture being the main occupation of the locals. This gives the area it's lovely open feel with vast fields of wheat, oil-seed rape and sunflowers. Hugh skies are the product of a softly undulating landscape, giving rise to wonderful sunsets and stunning night-time displays of stars
Within the region is La Rochelle, just one hour away, with its historic harbour where you can sit and eat at its many outside restaurants. The town has many fine shops and boutiques. There are several sandy beaches nearby.
A contrast can be found in the Marais, also known as the Green Venice, where there are numerous quiet waterways and several relaxing restaurants. Punts are available here.
The historic cities of Saintes and Poitiers are less than an hours drive away. Visit the amphitheatre in Saintes and walk around the signposted routes through Poitiers.
About an hours drive south is Cognac where you can visit a distillary and see how cognac is made and try a few samples! Also try the unigue aperitif Pineay de Charente.
A family day out to the Valley of the monkeys is a must. Here you can walk among them and watch them play.
The famous zoo at Palmyre is one of the best in Europe.
The St Jean d'Angely area
Aulnay de Saintonge is seven minutes away, with all amenities including the historic church which is a World heritage site. There is a public swimming pool, supermarket and shops. On a Sunday there is a market in the square, and you can sit outside in the local bar/restaurant and have a drink or coffee and enjoy the French rural life.
The local wine producer is situated just 15 minutes away and has a good range or red, white, rose and sparkling wines. Tasting is available most days.
A local donkey sanctuary is nearby and well worth a visit. La Villedieu is surrounded by woodland, which is home to deer, wild boar, red squirrels, and varied birdlife.
The historic town of St Jean D'Angely is 20 minutes away with its Abbey, Saturday market, very good restaurants
and the Atlantis water sports centre.
