About this location
The Brittany region
The house is in Morbihan - the southernmost part of Brittany close to the port of Redon (the highest point of the river Villaine and the busiest junction of the the Nantes/Brest canal).
When you cross this river you enter the Loire Atlantique region and are an hours drive from the nearest of the magnificent French Chateaux.
The region is an agricultural heartland so driving through the countryside can be breathtaking (the view from the balcony when sunflowers are growing in the field opposite is spectacular)
Saint Jacut les Pins
St Jacut les Pins is famous for the Tropical park - a good day out for the whole family.
The next closest village is Malansac which is famous for its Prehistoric park.
Rochefort en Terre - six miles away has been consistantly voted one of the most beautiful villages in France.
The nearest seaside resort is Damgan - a typical French resort with a beautiful safe beach - if you fancy a bit more sophistication then La Baule is the place where the beautiful people hang out and shop in the designer boutiques.
Farther north the beautiful walled city of Vannes and the standing stones of Carnac are all well worth a visit
