Home description
The Firs is a truly unique holiday home. There are beautiful views of the Hayle estuary from all of the rooms – the master en-suite even boasts a ‘loo with a view’! Nearby is the popular links course of West Cornwall Golf Club, as well as the white sandy beaches of Porth Kidney Sands and Carbis Bay. The local train station – just yards from the bottom of the garden – gives access to the delightful, scenic railway which runs to St Ives with wonderful views of the beaches and enticing clear blue seas along the way.
The glorious sandy beach of Porth Kidney can be reached by foot from The Firs, taking about 15 minutes by walking down a pretty village lane to the ancient church of St Uny, over the golf course and sand dunes to the mouth of the estuary and the spectacular view of St Ives Bay beyond. Porth Kidney beach has no facilities thus making it unspoilt by crowds. For easier access and for cafes and beach amenities St Ives (a 10 minute drive away or easily reached by bus or train) offers four fabulous town beaches.
