The West Country / Cornwall region
St Ives makes a perfect base for discovering West Cornwall's many other attractions. The oldest golf course in Cornwall is just a few miles away; there is bird watching on the protected bird sanctuaries at Lelant Saltings or Marazion marshes; horse riding across the nearby moors; a selection of subtropical gardens; miles of coastal paths; and the world-famous Eden Project, Minack Theatre and St Michael's Mount are just a short drive away. Or, if you feel inclined to venture 'abroad' take a day out to the Scilly Isles either by helicopter or ship from Penzance. There is something for everyone.
And, for those whose holiday revolves around food, St Ives has many fine restaurants - world-class chefs drawn to the area by an abundance of local grown produce and fresh fish - making for a truly cosmopolitan dining experience at a price to suit every pocket.

The property enjoys an enviable location a stone’s throw from the picturesque fishing harbour of St Ives. It offers accommodation in the “Downalong” area, the term used by the locals for the old fishing town, providing guests with the opportunity to walk anywhere in the town, the beaches and the famous Tate gallery and the artists’ community.
Situated in old St Ives. dating back to the fifteenth century, Nancherrow cottage offers all the charm and atmosphere of this stunning destination from its very heart. This is definitely the place to be!
St Ives holds a very special place in the heart of anyone who has ever visited this small Cornish fishing village. Wide beaches of golden sand washed by the a turquoise sea gives this western tip of the United Kingdom a uniquely Mediterranean feel.
Recently voted 'The Best Seaside Resort in the UK' by the US British Heritage Magazine, and a member of the exclusive most 'Beautiful Bays in the World Club', St Ives is a destination that will appeal to all ages and tastes.
For those who enjoy a beach-based holiday, the town's four main beaches have won numerous awards for cleanliness, professional lifeguard cover, superb café-restaurants and general facilities while Porthmeor beach, in particular, is one of Europe's major surfing venues.
For those who prefer to explore, a stroll around the streets and quaint cobbled alleyways of the old town will reveal fisherman's cottages decked with flower baskets and window boxes brimming with fuschias and geraniums - St Ives has won its category in the 'Britain in Bloom' competition for three consecutive years. Art galleries and studios exhibit paintings and sculptures by local artists who choose St Ives, with its unique and intense daylight, as a very special place to work. For the modern art lover there is, of course, the Tate Gallery, the Barbara Hepworth Studio and Museum and the Bernard Leach Pottery.

Further details
The St Ives cottage is just off the main harbour area, close by to all local amenities and beaches, ideal for a family holiday. However, due to the fact that there are six steps up to the front of the cottage, we do not consider it to be “wheelchair friendly”.
But from the point of view of convenience, it is in an enviable position, so close to everything.
