Home description

The Big Beach House is ideal for groups of surfers and windsurfers, being right on what is probably the finest beach in Cornwall. It is also very popular for big family gatherings, special birthdays, hen parties and wedding guests. We have beds for 20 people in 9 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 shower rooms. There are 3 cots and 3 highchairs.

The West Country / Cornwall region

This is a wonderful beach side location with stunning scenery. We have the mildest climate in Britain and the water is warmed by the Gulf Stream so it's ideal for watersports.

The south west has a much milder climate than most England, and consequently Cornwall has long been a popular summer getaway.

The area provides the best surfing in England, with towns like Newquay, Bude and Croyde being filled by enthusiasts every year. There is excellent walking on Bodmin Moor, domain of the legendary beast, and the coastline is wild and beautiful.


St Ives / Hayle area

St Ives Bay is a magical place, from the fascinating town of St Ives with its maze of cobbled streets and art connections at one end, to the lighthouse island at Godrevy. It faces west to the sunset and our house has the finest views over all. There's plenty to do, from walking the coast path through the sand dunes, surfing or sand yachting, to visiting art galleries or sub tropical gardens. We're also near Penzance for the Isles of Scilly ferry. We have the densest concentration of prehistoric remains of hillforts, Iron Age villages, and stone standing circles, in West Penwith. And the local carnival of Heylfest takes place at the beginning of August. Lots to do and lots of fun to be had!

Friday changeover and short breaks out of season welcome. A single dog is welcome subject to a £25 charge. We take a small damage deposit, refundable in full if no deductions need to be made. Payment by cheque, paypal or direct bank transfer, with 25% payable on booking and balance due a month before arrival.
