Driftwood Porthmeor is surrounded by spectacular beaches. 5 minutes walk away is Porthmeor Beach famous for its beauty and world renowned surf school. Head down to the beach for fantastic food and drink served in an contemporary beach cafe environment, or sip a delicious cocktail watching the sunset from one of their outside heated booths!

The purity of light is dazzling and it is not surprising that next to the beach is the Tate Gallery and few minutes walk away is the Barbara Hepworth Museum & Sculpture garden. St Ives is very popular with artists and has its own school of painting.

Close by are 4 other beaches, keep walking along Porthminster and you will come to the Island on the other side is Porthwidgen Beach sheltered and smaller perfect for little tots, next is Bamaluz -small but year round dog friendly, Harbour Beach great for watching the seals trying to steal the fishermen's catch and Porthminster Beach another gorgeous sandy bay with outdoor contemporary dining.

Driftwood offers a self catering holiday but with fantastic dining opportunities close by are modern and traditional restaurants, cafes and gourmet fish & chips in abundance.

Get lost wandering through the maze of cobbled streets lined by art galleries and boutique stores or head west to the coastal footpath to Zennor and just drink in the spectacular scenery. "Ideal location and great facilities"

Stayed here in October 2013 with some friends who were visiting from Canada.

We found the location to be excellent. It was only approx 5 minute walk into town. Very well maintained property with great facilities. The welcome information book left by the owner was extremely useful for exploring the area. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

"More suitable for young adults."

Upon our arrival we were disappointed immediately as soon as we saw the front door and window. The window frame and door was filthy! Inside was o.k but it is in need of a new sofa, not very comfortabl… More

Thank you so much for your review. We are delighted to tell you because of your review we have replaced the garden furniture with some gorgeous contemporary furniture which looks lovely. We have also replaced the cushions on the sofa and provided a very handy international clock which will be really useful for our international customers who also want to check what time it is at home. We now have an extra monthly clean for outside walls and door as this does bear the brunt of any wind coming in from the sea and can get grubby quickly. Thank you once again for giving us top marks for booking driftwood and excellent scores for other things too. We would love to welcome you again to our lovely holiday home.

"A bright modern apartment with lovely sea views"

We have a lovely stay in Driftwood, St Ives. The apartment is very well equipped with everything necessary you could think of. The sun trap balcony would be lovely in warmer weather and the location is just a short walk up the hill from the beach and shops. The level of cleanliness is very high and the owner and housekeeper are easily contactable to help out with any queries

"Home from home holiday apartment in a great location of St Ives"

I stayed in the apartment during February half term with my two teenage sons and my sister and her 8 year old daughter. We were all very comfortable and the apartment had all the mod cons. My two sons especially loved the 3D TV rather a little too much! The location is excellent a short walk into the town centre and great for driving as you can head out of the town without going into the busy centre. we were lucky with the weather as it was quite sunny the first few days whcih meant we were able to visit The Lizard and St Michaels mount. The owner had provided everything you would need and I really felt that i was at home! Will definitely visit again.
