The West Country region

Cornwall has an amazing dramatic coastline with its little fishing villages and harbours, over 300 spectacular beaches and the unique surf that supports a great variety of water sports.

Cornwall offers beautiful and diverse landscape and much of the old industrial heartland has been awarded World Heritage Status to preserve it for future generations to enjoy.

In recent years Cornwall has attracted dozens of exceptional chefs and a multitude of award winning cheese, wine and seafood producers have gone from strength to strength.

St Ives

Hayle is an excellent place to relax and enjoy yourself. It is situated in the crescent of St Ives Bay surrounded by three miles of sand stretching to Godrevy Lighthouse with panoramic views of St Ives and Carbis Bay.

The Hayle Towans beach is excellent for surfing and swimming, with shallow pools to paddle in and is patrolled by lifeguards during the summer. The Hayle estuary provides excellent walks, sea angling and an invaluable haven for many types of migratory birds and other wildlife.

Local attractions in Hayle include the Paradise Park wildlife sanctuary with indoor soft play area and the popular Coast 2 Coast carting track with four different types of cart including twin engines.

Take advantage of the mild sub tropical climate warmed year round by the Gulf Stream and enjoy the palms, plants and shrubs that would normally grow much further south.

Hayle has many restaurants, pubs and takeaways to cater for all tastes. The ever popular Philps pasty factory next to the old harbour bakes the best traditional hot steak pasties in Cornwall.

St Ives is a maze of tiny cobbled streets full of studios, galleries, craft shops and fine restaurants. The world famous Tate St Ives exhibits local and national works and the Barbara Hepworth Museum celebrates the work of the great sculptress and many of her works are on display in her restored workshop and gardens.

Enjoy the stunning views of Carbis Bay from the coastal footpath in St Ives and wander down to the golden beaches and clear blue sea.

There is something for everyone in and around Hayle and St Ives.
