"excellent 5 star lodge"

beautiful, peaceful setting and the lodge was so comfortable and finished to a very high standard and very clean, for the first time ever I didn't feel the need to clean as soon as I got there. Charlotte and Tony were very welcoming and friendly and the wine as part of the welcome pack was very much appreciated. My only problem was it all ended far too soon. I would recommended these holiday lodges very highly

"Absolutely Wonderful Lodge, Lovely Hosts, Booked to Revisit Later 2012"

Wow!!!! An amazing place. After travelling 6 hours we really felt that the accomodation and the surroundings had to be perfect to make the journey worth while. Kingfisher Lodge exceeded our expectations and immediately the distance travelled was worth it.

The lodges are newly built to a very high standard and the setting is spectacular. Set in a large meadow is a decent size fishing lake and on one side of the lake are three lodges, the most private of which is Kingfisher. Kingfisher has a reasonable size utility room with a washing machine, the electrcity meter, bait fridge (if you want it), cleaning supplies and coat store. There is an open plan living area with kitchen one side and seating/living area the other side, with a dining table between the two. The two bedrooms are well appointed, well decorated and very comfortable, one has an ensuite and as a consequence is slightly smaller in it's usable space, but definately worth not having to share a bathroom with the kids! Both bedrooms have a good size wardrobe and the beds are very comfortable.

The attention to detail is fantastic, everything is finished beautifully and Tony and Charlotte have thought of most things. If you're intending to cater for yourselves then the only things you need to take are seasonings, oil and stock cubes. If not then there are plenty of lovely places to eat locally.

The welcome that Tony and Charlotte gave us was lovely. We were greeted by Tony at our private parking space and introduced to Charlotte at the lodge. They gave us a detailed tour of the lodge and explained everything we needed to know. They were so welcoming and leave guests with a generous welcome pack of a couple of teabags, ssachets of coffee, sachets of sugar, a pint of milk and a bottle each of red and white wine - a very welcome suprise after such a long journey.

Tony and Charlotte are very knowledgeable about both the local area and Cornwall as a whole, some very usefull advise was given regarding places to visit and places to avoid based on our preferences.

Everything provided was of a high standard and the whole place was really clean, we just couldn't fault anything. At the risk of boring everyone we'll finish our review here. If you want peace and tranquility, a quality place to stay with friendly hosts then you can't possibly go wrong by renting the Kingfisher lodge (or either of the two other lodges).

Thank you Tony and Charlotte, we'll see you again in November xx
