The West Country region

Cornwall is well known for its warmer climate, beautiful scenery and beaches. There are plenty of options from surfing, walking, family attractions or just relaxing on the beach. Cornwall also has plenty of National Trust Sites to visit.

St Ives

Situated opposite St Ives Bay, Hayle is famed for its three miles of golden sands. The beach starts at the mouth of the estuary, follow the beach round and you come to Hayle Towans, this is sheltered and at nearly 2 miles long has plenty of space for all the family. Next is Gwithian, a popular surfing beach. Hayle sands ends at Godrevy Point where the lighthouse stands proud on an island out to sea. The point and car park are owned by the National Trust. This is the ideal base to see more of Cornwall or just to relax on the beach.

There are far too many attractions to mention but here are a few - The Flambards Experience, The Eden Project, Newquay Zoo, The National Seal Sanctuary, Land's End, Paradise park, The Cornish Cyder farm, Minack Theatre, Blue Reef Aquarium, Dairyland Farm World, The Tate St Ives, Tehidy Park, lots of National Trust sites including St Micheals Mount.

"Fantastic"

The chalet was situated in a lovely quiet site not far from the beach and Hayle itself. The site had several play areas that my son enjoyed. The chalet itself was clean and contained everything that we needed.

"Clean and well equipped chalet."

I booked this chalet two days before we arrived and the owner was very helpful, meeting us on site to take payment and hand over the keys.
It was reasonably priced and good value for money compared to similar accomodation we looked at. There was a small extra charge for our dog.
The location was good, on a nice clean site and quiet despite it being half term. It is a 5 minute walk to the beach and a nice pub.
The chalet was very well equipped with a good power shower, TV, fridge, cooker and washing machine (although we didn't use it). There is also a selection of board games.
The only downsides are: the electricity meter was very expensive and runs out without warning (when in the shower!) We spent over £25 over 6 days. To make matters worse there is no heating in the chalet and we found it very cold. The electric heater provided is not adequate and this uses alot of electricity too.

"Stunning, sunny little holiday haven 5 mins walk from miles of breath-takingly beautiful beach."

We loved our week in this lovely, immaculate, modern chalet and will definately be returning! It sits in a quiet part of the site and has a delightfully sunny aspect. It is a five minute walk over the… More

"A fantastic, comfortable, sunny chalet with new fridge freezer & shower, i've booked again for next year."

A clean, well maintained chalet that's 5 mins walk from the sandy beach, 5 mins drive to Lidl supermarket. There's great bus links to Penzance & St. Ives. There's a parking space next to the chalet & the site has lots of play areas for the kids. Also 5 mins drive into Hayle town is another kids playground & fantastic skateboard park.

"Three go slow in Cornwall"

Quiet location set just outside Hayle with a short walk to the beach and other amentities. A short drive through the countryside gets you to a number of local attractions, Lands End, Flambards, Penzance and other great beaches. We cooked most evenings in the well equipped kitchen, including large fridge / freezer and even got a couple of loads of washing and ironing done, which saves on taking to much kit. Public transport from Hayle is easy to use to get to St Ives and further afield saving on the struggle through the small Cornish town streets. Plenty of space in the main living area with DVD TV and a small selection of games should the weather change. The site is set in rolling hills / dunes so you only see a few other chalets and not row upon row of square boxes or vans. A very pleasant site and excellent accomodation, recommend for a great time away to do as little or as much as you want. :-)
