Home description

Bijou is a superbly equipped quality self-catering modern and spacious property, accommodating up to 4 people. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner takes advantage of distant rural views and is furnished to a very high standard. The unique design provides a lovely light and airy atmosphere in which to relax in and where previous guests have really enjoyed their stay. French doors lead into the pretty south-facing gravelled garden for alfresco dining.

Located in the village of Ludgvan it is an ideal base from which to explore West Cornwall, being only 1.5 miles from St. Michael's Mount, 3 miles from Penzance and 6 miles from St. Ives.

The West Country / Cornwall region

Stunning beaches, lovely walks and many tourist attractions are all within easy reach, including The Eden Project, The Minack Theatre, St. Michael's Mount, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and many many more. Golfing, fishing, sailing, walking, bird-watching, surfing are a few of the activities on offer. St Ives area

St. Ives is a famous old fishing town with pretty cobbled streets and quaint allyways and is a must for visitors to meander around. The clear blue sea, light , and golden beaches provide the perfect setting for artists with lots of galleries to visit and view their work. Penzance, Marazion, Mousehole, Lamorna, Lands End, St. Just are some of the places to visit all within half -an- hour's drive of Bijou.


How to get there

From all major road networks in the UK travel on A30 towards Penzance. Continue on A30 travelling on Camborne By-pass towards Hayle. Remain on A30 and at the end of the Hayle-by-pass bear left towards Penzance, passing through Canonstown, Whitecross and Crowlas. When you have almost passed through Crowlas take a RIGHT turn at the crossroads signposted Ludgvan. The primary school is on the LEFT and a short way further up is a pub called The Old Inn. Turn RIGHT up Blowing House Hill. After about 200 yds turn RIGHT on the bend (beware of traffic coming down the hill), down an unadopted lane. Pandora and Bijou are the first properties on the right-hand side. Between the bungalows there is a large driveway where you can park your car.

The garden, whilst small, is SOUTH-FACING with lots of interesting potted plants with garden furniture for dining alfresco or just lounging. The garden has been mainly gravelled and therefore this may not be suitable for small children. Located down a quiet country lane Bijou is adjacent to the owner's property.

£100 deposit required together with completed booking form which can be printed off from the owner's website. DISCOUNTED RENTAL RATES WHEN ONLY 2 PEOPLE OCCUPY.

Owners reside in an adjacent bungalow and are there to welcome you on arrival.

Rental rates are fully inclusive of linen, towels and electricity.

Far better than we anticipated -the photographs don't do it justice - what a lovely place to stay.

Bijou is by far the best self-catering accommodation we have stayed in and will be recommending it to all our family and friends.
