Le Grand Epelengere
About the home
Beautifully set in 3 acres of Normandy countryside, this converted farmhouse genuinely encompass all that is needed for a great holiday or break in full privacy. Suitable for both adult groups and families with children alike, this first-class location with its spacious surroundings sets this property apart.
If you are looking to enjoy all the fine trappings that Normandy has to offer, then you needn't look any further. Situated half a mile from the sparsely used D999, the property has all the rural qualities you could hope for whilst being able to offer excellent links to local amenities, small towns and great places of local interest including Mont St. Michel and the sandy beaches of Normandy to the west and of D-Day to the north. 5 miles from Brecey directly to the north and 6 miles from the beautiful St. Hilaire to the South, this central location in the heart of Normandy on the Manche/Calvados regional border means you can enjoy all aspects of Normandy, the sea, towns and countryside, with a great comfortable and central base.
With its original 17th century beams fully restored and exposed and featured at every opportunity, this 4 bedroomed former farmhouse (plus accompanying 1 bedroomed cottage if needed) is typical of Normandy. Uniquely set in 4 self-contained and well kept acres of lush grass, orchards and natural beauty, there is plenty of room to BBQ, kick a football, sun bathe or stroll - away from main roads and over looking neighbours.
This ideal environment makes for a great stay, the property combining elements of genuine heritage and history with modern comfortable furnishings and appliances for the comfort of our guests.
The whole property oozes space and a sense of adventure with a touch of historical intrigue thrown in to keep you musing over your wine and calvados well into the night – all done in a child friendly manner. From the mystery inscriptions of the Crusaders found in the fireplace (now housing a glorious wood-burner) to the old cow-barn across the way with 100 year old hay strewn in its loft as if time had forgotten it, we hope you enjoy the space and feel at home here during your stay – the property is yours to explore.
