This holiday villa complex at St Hilaire de Riez, with heated swimming pool and paddling pool and children's club (for two half days per week in high season), is only 650 metres from the famous long, sandy beach and is set amongst the sand dunes and pine forest. Bicycle hire is available on site and with numerous tracks thought the forest to the beach, that is a great way to get about. Morning bread deliveries can be arranged from reception. And there are restaurants, cafes and shops about 400m away. All the villas at Les Mas de St Hilaire are in groups of adjoining houses, each with a private outside area with a terrace and garden table and chairs. The villa has tiled floors with white walls and a bright and airy feel. The doors from the terrace lead into the open plan lounge which has a sofa, dining and kitchen area, and open stairs leading up to the mezzanine. In the kitchen area there is a sink, fridge, electric rings and a mini-oven or micro wave and the crockery and cutlery. The villa measures around 53m² and sleeps 6 people. There is one double bedroom with en suite shower and separate toilet downstairs. Upstairs there is a bedroom with 2 single beds or a double, and a sofa bed for 2 people or 2 singles on the open mezzanine bedroom area. There is a second bathroom with bath and a flexible shower hose fitment, and a second toilet. The excellent internationnaly renowned golf course at St Jean de Monts is just a short drive away and we can offer you a reduction. New for 2008, TBC in 2009, Bikes delivered to your door. If you pre-book your cycle hire for a minimum of 7 days, your bicycles will be delivered right to your door at no extra charge. And at the end of your rental, they can be collected too. The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Vendee region
The climate is wonderful with over 200 days of sunshine and over 2,500 hours of sun. Even from early spring and late autumn the weather is very mild and has warm breezes. The highest temperature registered in St Jean de Monts was in 2003 but that was a record year but don't worry - normally it's more around the middle 20's! Many areas of the Vendee have a lovely micro climate as they are protected by the the offshore islands. The Vendee lies between the Côte d'Argent and Brittany but with a character all of its own. The Atlantic Coast stretches 140 km, full of fine white sandy beaches with an amazing 210 days sunshine per year, a record rivalling that of the south of France. The Vendée coast is renowned for its luminosity and is called locally "LA COTE DE LA LUMIERE"... The Vendée is rich with many museums, castles and heritage centres to visit. It is a land of naturally preserved space with a variety of pleasures such as sandsurfing, horse riding, golfing, watersports and Spa Thalassotherapy centres offering revitalising salt water cures. The Vendée is reclaimed land and therefore flat and riddled with creeks, vast beaches and sand dunes inviting you to relax. In the dusk, fine pleasure ports transform into lively, welcoming stopovers with a variety of museums, gardens, festivals, folklore pageants and magnificent evening shows The region is covered with working salt marshes, oyster beds, potato fields, vineyards and provides a wealth of seafood. The Vendée offers colourful beauty and a variety of countryside from farmlands to the local marshes and Marais Poitevin Marshes, from forests, the sea and villages with their colourful markets selling the local speciality "Brioche Vendéene" (a type of bread with a sweet taste). One can relive the past by visiting cloisters, abbeys, inhabited Châteaux and the picturesque surroundings encompassed by magnificent windmills. You couldn't have a better setting for seaside fun, plenty of space on the gently sloping beaches where you can cool off, or picnic in the fragrant pine woods which sweep down to the sand dunes.

The Atlantic Toboggan Water Park is situated at 500metres. It is open every day 10.00-19.30 and has a swimming pool with wave machine, toddlers + children’s pool, Jacuzzi, and water shutes. Snacks available at the Café on site. The Oxford English Pub is situated at 500 metres, Quad bike 1km, Paint Ball 1km, Supermarket 700m, Super U 1.6 km, Restaurant Cafe 400 m, Golf 5 km, mini golf 300m, horse riding on the south side of St Jean de Monts. St Hilaire de Riez is very close to St Jean de Monts which is a famous seaside resort on the Vendee coast, with its fine sandy beach over 8km long reknowned as one of the best in France. During the summer season St Jean has all the modern sides of a bustling beach town, including an excellent 18 hole golf course, spa resort, sailing centre and horseriding centres. Come the evening, wander along the beach esplanade and the lively avenue de la Mer, the pedestrian road leading to the beach and the Casino! Cultural and sporting activites are held all summer long from a kids festival, international kite festivals, an important Triathlon, and many art exhibitions in the Palais des Congres.

Further details indoors: Blankets and Pillows are provided. If you prefer not to bring your own, bed linen and towels can be hired from reception. These must be ordered in advance and cost 8 euros per bed for sheets and 6 euros per pack for towels which comprise 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel. A French television (not satelite) can be hired from reception for 35 euros per week. A cot can be hired for 29 Euros per week and a high chair can be hired for 15 euros per week . There is a pre-orderable bakery delivery service at reception. Barbecues are permitted but not provided. Shared laundry facilities including washing machine, drier and iron are situated at reception.

PRICES DO NOT INCLUDE: Water, electricity and heating. Charges are 20 Euros per week from13/06/09-12/09/09 and 35 Euros per week for other periods. Local tourist tax 0.27 Euros per person per day. Animals not accepted.
Conditions
There is a non-refundable booking fee of 25 euros. Arrival days are from Saturday 17h/4pm to Saturday 10h/10am. CLEANING AND SECURITY DEPOSIT : you will be asked to leave 260 euros on arrival (normally by credit card), which guarantees any possible damages to the house and its contents caused during his stay, as well as any cleaning costs, water and electricity costs when they are not included in the rental price and telephone charges (if there is a telephone in the property). This security and cleaning deposit will be returned only if the accommodation is left clean subject to normal rules.
You are politely reminded to leave the house in a clean condition. It will be checked on your departure and your deposit will be refunded minus any breakages. You may well want to take advantage of the Final cleaning service which is payable as an extra and is 70-84 euros.
You will be given a code to collect your key from a special collection box, if you arrive after reception has closed.
