About the home

Apartment Mont Joly is less than 400m from the centre of Saint Gervais, and 100m from the Tramway Mont Blanc. The spectacular new bridge across the gorge housing it's own Bungee Jump platform means Telecabine is now only 400m away from the door also. Alternatively a free bus stops outside the apartment at regular intervals during the Winter and Summer seasons. The area is a fantastic summer and winter location, with plenty of activities close by including climbing, cycling, walking, paragliding in the summer, and skiing/snowboarding in the winter. Saint Gervais is a traditional French market town - quieter than the nearby ski resorts of Chamonix and Megeve, but a very friendly ski resort providing easy access to the 400km+ Evasion Mont Blanc ski area. The apartment is fully equipped for guests wanting to self cater, however there are also plenty of restaurants and bars in the town centre for those wanting to eat out.

The apartment has stunning views of the Mont Blanc mountain range (it is on the third floor of the building), and has been recently renovated, with a newly fitted fully equipped kitchen and a new bathroom. It is a very large apartment (89sq metres), with an open plan kitchen/living area including a large oak bench and sofa bed, and 2 bedrooms. The family bedroom sleeps up to 4 people, with a king size bed and bunk beds. The second bedroom has a double bed, and there is a further single bed in an annex off the hallway. The apartment is ideal for families - toys are provided for young children, as is a travel cot, a portable high chair and a buggy. There is a cave on the ground floor providing storage for skis/snowboards/bicycles.

Saint Gervais is situated between the resorts of Megeve and Chamonix, within the Evasion Mont Blanc ski area and on the Circuit du Mont Blanc. It is a 19th Century Spa Town, popular in the winter with skiers wanting to access local ski resorts such as Evasion Mont Blanc, Les Houches, Les Contamines and Combleux, and in the summer with climbers and mountaineers.

The St Gervais Les Bains area

Saint Gervais is a beautiful market and spa town set in above the gorge of the Bonnant river. In winter Saint Gervais is a relaxed and cheaper alternative to the bigger Megeve and Chamonix ski areas. The huge 400km+ Evasion Mont Blanc ski area can be accessed via the telecabine in Saint Gervais. Tramway du Mont Blanc offers access to the Les Houches ski area, and Chamonix is a short drive away. In the summer, there are numerous activities and places to visit in the surrounding area. Hiking, mountaineering, climbing, paragliding, cycling (both road and MTB), Parcours, river rafting and horse trekking. Children's clubs are available during the summer, and there are plenty of local parks offering a wide range of activities for children of all ages. In the winter there is a mountainside creche available for babies and young children up to the age of 9 (reservations required during school holidays).

Cheap flights are available from the UK to Geneva, Grenoble or Lyon with Easyjet. and/or Ryanair. Geneva is just one hour's drive away - Holidayautos are usually very competitively priced for car hire. Alternatively the apartment is 4 km taxi or bus journey from Le Fayet SNCF train station.

“Spacious well situated apartment perfect for a busy family holiday” We stayed in Mont Joly for a week at the peak of this summer's heat wave in France. The apartment was blissfully cool at the end of a long hot day's activities. There was plenty to do with swimming pools, lakes, climbing and parcour to explore. The mountain scenery from the apartment was fascinating to watch change throughout the day. The kitchen and dining area was perfect for family meals. The apartment is well appointed with all you need for a weeks or more's family holiday.
