About the home

New apartment on ground floor and built within the contemporary chalet style. Stunning views all around including the peak of Mont Blanc. In a quiet spot, 3 min drive to the Centre and main gondola. Now fitted with wi-fi and sky tv.

The apartment can be configured as 1 or 2 bedroomed depending on your needs and can sleep up to 5 comfortably. It has underfloor heating and electric panel heating for ease and comfort. There is a spacious living area with kitchen facilities with a bedroom off this with bunk beds and a separate bathroom. From the living area you have another large bedroom with twin beds and a pull down bed if you require with its own bathroom. There are 2 sets of French doors leading to large patio to relax. Own seperate parking area (very safe).

From the outside you have use of the front garden space and it's own new patio area. It also has it's own safe parking. The views are panoramic, looking towards the peak of Mont Blanc and Domes Du Miage, the village of Saint Gervais and then the Rochers des Fiz mountain range. We are within 100metres of main walking paths to take you to Le Betex etc. There is a free bus service within 100 metres for the town centre.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region

The Haute Savoie is a very impressive region of the French Alps in the presence of the Mont Blanc massif. With its natural beauty and landscape it lends itself to all seasons with some of the best skiing in Europe and all the summer activities including walking and climbing or just relaxing by a mountain lake.

You can explore the city of Geneva (45 mins) or the historical town of Annecy (40 mins) and the Katmandu of the alps; Chamonix.

The St Gervais Les Bains area

Saint Gervais is a very charming alpine village neatly tucked against Mont Blanc on the northern side between the Chamonix valley and Megeve. It has easy access by train and road. The village has lot of ambience and is home to music festivals and sports weeks including a mountain bike week. There are lots of restaurants to choose from with a weekly market selling local produce including cheeses, meats and wines.There is an array of shops for clothes and a few supermarkets for the self-caterer.

The old Mont Blanc tram passes through the village where you can ride up to start the well none trek to the summit of Mont Blanc via "Tete Rousse" and "Aiguille du Gouter". It also offers miles of walking and biking trails, golfing in the nearby village of Megeve, climbing, paragliding, horse riding etc.

During the winter St-Gervais has a vast ski area for all levels and is connected to Megeve and St Nicholas providing over 400km of pistes. The more adventurous can travel to Chamonix and ski the "Grande Monte" or the "Vallee Blanche" from the top of the Aiguille du Midi cable car.

The spa village of Saint Gervais also boasts the famous Thermal Spring Baths offering treatments and therapy all year round. There is an outdoor pool in the village or an indoor pool at the new sports complex in Megeve.

From Geneva airport it takes 1 hour by transfer or self drive with car hire. There are transfer companies found on www.st-gervais.com or car hire at the airport.

There are several airlines flying into Geneva such as British airways, Easy jet and Swiss Air.

You can also bring your own car and takes about 8 hours from Calais and is all motorway to within 10mins of Saint Gervais.

“Good apartment, good location” We really enjoyed our stay at the apartment in Mark and Aileen's (your ever friendly hosts) recently built chalet. The chalet is in a very good location above St Gervais with views of the village, Mont Blanc, and across towards Chamonix. It's also well placed for the ski lifts (car preferable - see below). One of the advantages of St Gervais in general is that it is an easy drive from Geneva and well placed to reach other resorts such as Megeve (which you can also ski to), Chamonix, Flaine - even Verbier in Switzerland isn't that far (90 mins or so) if the pass above Chamonix is open. It worked perfectly for us for a short-break with our one year old son. One point to note - you really need a car as the apartment is above the village and is a brisk (read that as steep!) walk to get to shops, restaurants, lifts etc (ski bus stop nearby though).

“Views of the Mont Blanc” This was our third stay in this apartment having stayed at plenty of others before, we come to Saint Gervais every year and this is by far the best place we have stayed in, the chalet the apartment is part of was newly built a couple of years ago, the decor is smart, warm and comfortable and the owners Mark and Elaine are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. Although we come in the summer the location is equally good for skiing and has wonderful views of the Mont Blanc

“Fantastic apartment, very friendly and helpful hosts.” Had a great time staying in St Gervais. We went for a week ski-ing. Lovely resort and not too busy. Apartment was very warm, clean and cosy just what you needed after a day on the slopes. It had everything we needed for our stay. It is in good location for slopes and easy to catch ski bus just outside. The owners, who live upstairs were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the area and know a lot about french wine! Would definatly stay there again.

“Great Holiday and fantastic hospitality” Flew into Geneva, hired a car and found our way to the apartment with no problem. Great location, with fantastic views. Mark & Aileen were great hosts as were the boys, we really enjoyed your company. The apartment was well equipped for our needs, very cosy for a good night in after skiing all day!. Skiing was great and would love to come back for a summer break. Thanks
