St Gervais Les Bains area
Saint Gervais-Mont-Blanc is a picturesque spa town on the West side of the Mont Blanc massif (French Alps). Unlike many well-known Alpine resorts, this is not a purpose built ski town, but has character spanning centuries and a year-round community life. There are a variety of restaurants, bars, shops and facilities in the town and it's surroundings offer an enjoyable holiday at any time of the year. Although there are lots of local activities, St. Gervais is also well placed to provide a touring base for the Mont Blanc region.
For snow sports in the immediate vicinity you have 420km of slopes and 116 ski lifts opposite Mont Blanc. The nearest ski lift is about a ten minute walk from the apartment. As well as snow sports in winter you have walks along snow covered mountain trails, curling, escorted snow shoe hikes, cross-country skiing and the Mont-Blanc Tramway. In summer there's hiking, canyoning, horse riding, swimming, rafting, tennis, fishing and mountain biking.
Paragliding, Ice Skating and Spa treatments at Les Thermes can be enjoyed all year round.
How to get there
The nearest airport is Geneva. If driving take the A40 autoroute towards Chamonix, exiting at Le Fayet (Sortie 21) and follow the signs to St Gervais. Alternatively there is a bus service from Geneva Airport to St Gervais. Another option is to take the TGV to Le Fayet and then a taxi to St Gervais.
