This superb, huge apartment sleeps 6 people in 3 luxurious double bedrooms, all with en suite shower or bathrooms.
Apartment Des Pratz occupies the entire top floor of a modern chalet building and, with its high ceilings, large bedrooms and open plan living space, is the perfect holiday accommodation whatever the time of year. Situated just a stones throw from the swimming pool and tennis courts and only a short stroll into the centre of town, it's also perfect for those without a car.
The feeling of space when you first enter the apartment can't help but put a smile on your face as your eyes are drawn down past the kitchen, towards the dining area and the huge fireplace that creates a wonderful centre piece to the whole open plan living area. Huge patio doors open out onto a large balcony and the views up the valley towards Les Contamines and the Mont Blanc massif are spectacular.
The large dining table, perfectly placed under a wonderful chandelier, with the fire to one side and superb views to the other, must create one of the most perfect spots for your well earned dinner after a day in the mountains and the comfortable leather sofas in the lounge provide a great spot for after dinner relaxing or continuing tales of the days exploits.
Each of the 3 double bedrooms has its own en suite, the main bedroom's being part of the room itself, creating a truly decadent, James Bond feel. Another of the double bedrooms has its own mezzanine space and sofa giving you a great space if you feel the need for a little time on your own.
The apartment also has ample storage and a cloakroom/laundry with toilet and storage for ski boots so the apartment can easily remain clutter free during your stay.

A refundable damage/cleaning deposit of 250 Euros will be required in the form of credit card details.
A deposit of 25% of the total price is required when booking. Payment of the remaining balance is due 8 weeks before arrival.
Payment can be made by credit or debit card (3% surcharge levied on credit cards).
The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region
St Gervais and its surrounding area is famous for the great skiing in winter and in summer the climbing, cycling and walking. The town has a good snow record in the winter and in the summer and autumn it is warm and sunny.
The St Gervais Les Bains area
Saint Gervais is a beautiful Savoyard village with a friendly atmosphere. It is home to Europe's highest mountain, Mont Blanc and has been a popular holiday destination for over a hundred years. The village is steeped in history and the lovely baroque church is the central point of the village. There are a good range of shops, supermarkets, bars, potteries, art galleries and restaurants and every Thursday morning there is a market, when the village's main square becomes a hive of activity.
St Gervais has a huge number of activities on offer. It is popular with walkers and cyclists in the summer -it is one of the starting points for the Tour du Mont Blanc - and in the winter Saint Gervais has a large ski area (over 400 km) which links to nearby Megeve. The Evasion Mont Blanc ski pass will give you access to St Gervais, St Nicholas de Veroce, Les Contamines, Megeve, Combloux and La Glettaz. The Mont Blanc Tramway can be taken from Saint Gervais to the Bellevue plateau (1800m) or the Prarion giving skiers access to the Les Houches ski area in winter. Or it can be taken by walkers or those just wishing to see the wonderful panorama in winter or summer.
Parapenting, water sports and golf (the nearest course is Megeve) are all easily available nearby.
For those who would like to relax a little St Gervais's famous thermal par offers complementary therapies and massage. The village also has an open air swimming (open June-September), an olympic sized ice rink, tennis courts and mini-golf (summer only).
The towns of Megeve and Chamonix are just a 20 minute drive away and the pretty medieval town of Annecy is one hour away should you wish to explore a little further.

The nearest airport to the chalet is Geneva, 1 hour away.
Cheap flights can often be found especially if booked well in advance.

We are able to organise a transport service from the Airport to the accommodation. Alternatively you can hire a car through a number of different car hire companies. We recommend that you hire a car from the Swiss side of Geneva airport. This is the easiest and quickest way out of the airport.
Once you have hired your car, follow the signs for France and you will then go through the border and once through, follow the A40 heading towards Chamonix.
It is possible to travel by train. There is a TGV stations at Le Fayet/St Gervais
The area is around 800km from Calais by car. There are autoroutes covering the entire length of the journey.

We enjoyed a superb week's stay during October half term despite road construction outside (which the owners had kindly warned us about beforehand) in this luxury apartment. The location was perfect:St Gervais itself a comfortable stroll and lots of other walks nearby. Plenty of places to visit like Chamonix, Italy & Annecy to visit - I could have stayed for weeks. Fantastic walking & cycling. Weather amazing apart from one wet/wintry day. Would thoroughly recommend this warm,comfortable very well furnished base whatever time of year and definitely return. Appreciated the welcome pack containing all basics - particularly the bottle of wine! |
