Home description
Chalet Le Rosay stunningly blends the traditional with the contemporary, both in its architectural stlye and its decor. Large windows and skylights bathe the chalet in light and provide stunning views of the surrounding scenery. Underfloor heating and a wood burning stove in the lounge ensure that you will remain cosy whatever the temperature outside. The bright contempory living room leads through to a huge dining table. This dining area offers wonderful views through the patio doors. The French doors in the lounge and dining room lead out onto a huge terrace, equipped with table and chairs, with fantastic views of the surrounding mountains and village. The large kitchen is very well equipped including full sized oven and hob, two fridges, microwave, dishwasher, double sink and breakfast bar. Also on the first floor is a lovely private twin bedroom, accessed through a doorway and short hall off the living area, that looks out onto the rear garden, with a shower room and separate toilet next door.
The stairs to the second floor open onto the mezzanine that overlooks the dining area. Off this lie the remaining bedrooms, family bathroom and toilet. The first double bedroom has french doors opening out onto a small balcony at the rear of the chalet that overlooks the garden. The second, loft style, double bedroom has a king size bed, sloping ceilings with skylight and an en suite shower room. Finally you'll discover the third double bedroom, with kingsize bed and french doors that lead out onto a large balcony at the front of the chalet which again offer amazing views of the mountains and village. The family bathroom has a bath with shower and a separate shower enclosure, as well as a fabulous ceiling with skylight. The ground floor of the chalet houses a sauna (available 10am-10pm), heated boot and ski room, large family bathroom, and the final bedroom. This large bedroom offers sleeping for four in two bunkbeds.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region
St Gervais and its surrounding area is famous for the great skiing in winter and in summer the climbing, cycling and walking. The town has a good snow record in the winter and in the summer and autumn it is warm and sunny.
St Gervais Les Bains area
Saint Gervais is a beautiful savoyard village with a friendly atmosphere. It is home to Europe's highest mountain, Mont Blanc and has been a popular holiday destination for over a hundred years. The village is steeped in history and the lovely baroque church is the central point of the village. There are a good range of shops, supermarkets, bars, potteries, art galleries and restaurants and every Thursday morning there is a market, when the village's main square becomes a hive of activity.
St Gervais has a huge number of activities on offer. It is popular with walkers and cyclists in the summer -it is one of the starting points for the Tour du Mont Blanc - and in the winter Saint Gervais has a large ski area (over 400 km) which links to nearby Megeve. The Evasion Mont Blanc ski pass will give you access to St Gervais, St Nicholas de Veroce, Les Contamines, Megeve, Combloux and La Glettaz. The Mont Blanc Tramway can be taken from Saint Gervais to the Bellevue plateau (1800m) or the Prarion giving skiers access to the Les Houches ski area in winter. Or it can be taken by walkers or those just wishing to see the wonderful panorama in winter or summer.
Parapenting, water sports and golf (the nearest course is Megeve) are all easily available nearby.
For those who would like to relax a little St Gervais's famous thermal parc offers complementary therapies and massage. The village also has an open air swimming (open June-September), an olympic sized ice rink, tennis courts and mini-golf (summer only).
The towns of Megeve and Chamonix are just a 20 minute drive away and the pretty medieval town of Annecy is one hour away should you wish to explore a little further.
How to get there
The nearest airport to the chalet is Geneva, 1 hour away. Cheap flights can often be found especially if booked well in advance. www.britishairways.com www.easyjet.co.uk www.swiss.com
We are able to organise a transport service from the Airport to the accommodation. Alternatively you can hire a car through a number of different car hire companies. We recommend that you hire a car from the Swiss side of Geneva airport. This is the easiest and quickest way out of the airport. Once you have hired your car, follow the signs for France and you will then go through the border and once through, follow the A40 heading towards Chamonix.
It is possible to travel by train. There is a TGV stations at Le Fayet/St Gervais
The area is around 800km from Calais by car. There are autoroutes covering the entire length of the journey.

Guestbook
We all really really enjoyed our holiday. The chalet was fantastic. It met all our needs, cooking in there was a pleasure with lots of room, good equipment, nothing missing. It was great going back to the chalet after a good days skiing, very relaxing and comfortable. St Gervais was a lovely place, beautiful town, very picturesque with lovely buildings. (Paula J)
Chalet and views superb. Thanks to Holiday in Alps for being so responsive to our needs. See you next year! (Richard, Nirmal, Liz, David, Sue, Andrew and Paul)
Thanks for a wonderful, restful week in St Gervais. The accommodation was first class with wonderful views and every home comfort provided. We would definitely visit again and not hesitate to recommend friends & family...... (Catherine H)
