Surrounded by forests and meadows and close to the beautiful abbey of St Germer de Fly the classical Norman Longhouse from the beginning of the nineteenth century has the amenities of a large open fire place and a wood stove in the kitchen. The large lovingly furnished bedroom/studies on the first floor look out on the beautiful orchard and garden. There is plenty of space inside and outside the house for children to play and to explore the small nature reserve that is surrounding the property. The house is ideal for nature lovers who would not mind the occasional spider web.

The Normandy / Seine-Maritime region

The hilly countryside of the Pays de Bray is famous for its picturesque villages, its potters and its riding stables and farmers who sell local produce. Walking and biking trails criss-cross the countryside. The oldgrowth Forest of Lyons is close. There are lots of excursions possible by bike to beautiful little towns like Gerberoy, Lyons or by car to main sites of the history of France like Senlis or Beauvais.

St Germer de Fly area

St. Germer de Fly is dominated by its impresssive abbey, built according to the model of the Saint Chapelle in Paris. Concerts and other cultural events are organised here throughout the year. The village of St Germer is sufficiently big to have its own delicious bakery, butcher shop, grocery and pharmacy, all around the pretty town square.

How to get there

Fly to Charles de Gaulles Airport, take the RER into Paris Gare du Nord and from Gare du Nord the regional train to Beauvais. From Beauvais there is a bus connection to St Germer de Fly. There are also cheap flights directly to Beauvais Tille.
