The Paphos District
Paphos combines ancient history with a cosmopolitan, modern tourist resort. The area by the coast is known as Kato Paphos and boasts a pretty little harbour and plenty of open air cafes and bars. Further inland is the old town of Paphos, known by the locals as Ktima. With its narrow streets, hustle and bustle, covered market and typically Cypriot atmosphere, it is well worth a visit. As a consequence, Paphos is on UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage list.
Cyprus is famous as the birth place of the goddess Aphrodite, Venus in Roman mythology. She is known as the Ancient Greek goddess of love and beauty. Legend says that she emerged from the sea at Aphrodite’s Rock in a surge of sea foam.
St George area
In walking distance of the villa are around 6 traditional tavernas serving BBQ'd meat and local dishes of the highest quality. You are only a 5-7 minute drive from Coral Bay, Peyia village and 20 minutes into Paphos town. Easy access can be gained to the beautifully traditional village of Kathikas and you can also easily reach Polis and Latchi on the other side.
As previously mentioned, the beach and coastline can be walked to (going past some very nice and upmarket gated villas may We add) in under 10 minutes with a choice of routes and areas of coastline to enjoy. Agios Georgios has a renowned fish taverna where fresh fish is brought from fishing vessels that are stationed in the picturesque harbour situated directly below.
The monastery at Agios Georgios is beautifully architectured and is always a draw for visitors to the area.
Other things to do in the area include Paphos Bird Park, reptile park, horse riding, Akamas Peninsular & Lara Nature Reserve, hiking/walking, buggy safaris, 4 x 4 safaris, sea caves area, sailing and many more. Amusement and water parks in Paphos are also easily accessible from Coral Bay as are numerous archaeological ruins such as the Tombs of the Kings. If you want to get out and explore some fantastic scenery, take a trip to the Akamas, Polis, Latchi or even Troodos mountains. The Akamas is an untouched part of Cyprus with unspoilt coastline and traditional fish taverns in stunning seaside locations. Troodos is of course the main mountain range in Cyprus, not many people know that in the winter....you can ski!
It may well be the perfect location for a vacation retreat.

Guestbook for Villa Helian
Review submitted by Gail from South Warnborough (Submitted: 31/08/2009) "We really enjoyed staying at this property there were lovely views from the balcony, the sunsets were amazing. The villa was lovely and spacious and so was the pool and it was very clean. It was nice to be able to walk to a taverna and everything else was a short car ride away. The area was very nice and not commercialized. We would recommend this villa and we would like to visit again"
Review submitted by GLENN & CAROL from TREDEGAR,GWENT (Submitted: 22/06/2009) "HAVING JUST GOT BACK FROM 1 WEEKS STAY FOR OUR DAUGHTERS WEDDING,WE ARE TRYING TO BOOK TO GO BACK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE,WE WOULD RECOMMENED THIS VILLA TO ANYONE ,ONE WORD `PERFECT`"
Review submitted by Jo from Yeovil (Submitted: 16/06/2008) "The property is exactly as it is advertised, it is as beautiful as it looks in the photographs and very clean. During our stay we met the pool man and the gardener, both very friendly. We had eggs, bacon, bread, milk, orange juice and various other bits and pieces waiting for us on arrival. All the information about the property was at hand and Mr Gargaro who organised our booking was very helpful both prior and during our stay. I think a hire car is a must at this villa to get the most out of your stay because there is no local shop within walking distance and the local tavernas although very welcoming were very quiet, unlike Coral Bay that had a good holiday buzz about the restaurants. I would stay at this villa again, I have not been to many places where the environment has been so relaxing, there are some lovely short walks from the Villa."
Review submitted by Carol from Swindon (Submitted: 03/12/2007) "We really enjoyed the peace and quiet and it was a great villa for the price. Being big swimmers, we had a great time swimming at Sea Caves and Akamas Beach. We hope to be back soon."
Review submitted by Gill from Norwich (Submitted: 03/12/2007) "The villa and location were eveything we wanted. We have bought a villa close by and Steven was a great help in selecting this one in order that we could be close. The sunsets were amazing and we enjoyed many a glass in the back garden watching them together."
Review submitted by Lisa from Bishops Stortford (Submitted: 03/12/2007) "We wanted a quiet hideaway for the 3 of us and that's exactly what we got. The villa is very spacious and nicely furnished. It has an unusaully large garden and it was great swimming in the pool at night. We hope to come back next year."
