Cosy and intimate private apartment, which is ideal for a couple or small family or friends. Flexible accommodation, with own private garden overlooking the Mourne Rouge beach and bay and the Caribbean sea. You cannot get very much closer to the beach and sea. There is a lovely beach bar/restaurant very close on the beach, open for long hours for breakfast through to dinner.

The South West region
This is a tourist area with many bars/restaurants and shopping malls, but close to the city of St Georges with the cruise ship terminal and designer shopping with duty free goods. There are many beaches and bays close by,accessible by car or there are good local bus connections. Also accessible are the many water sports and dive shops close by.
There are various tourist attractions such as the Rum factories and waterfalls, as well as the lakes and volcanic areas of the island. Further north is the interesting town of Gouyave, which holds a local fish evening each Friday. At the top of the island is Sauteres, and it is possible to see the Grenadines and Carricou islands.
St George's / Morne Rouge area
There is a carnival every year in August with much dancing and street parades for a long weekend. If you look at local websites and information there are many festivals throughout the year, sailing festivals included. There is a golf course close by (5 minutes drive) and I can arrange for a local golf enthusiast to play some rounds with you, if you are alone and show you around there. It is 9 hole couse. There are many boat or fishing trips available, the Rhum Runner a party boat, fishing trips locally, as well as scuba diving where I can recommend a Padi 5 star centre which can teach you from scratch through to Instructor level and has comfortable boats and an extremely professional team. There is organised snorkelling in beautiful bays and wind surfing, water skiing, kayaking to name but a few.
There is the marine park to snorkel or dive in, in Flamingo Bay at Moliniere. Here there are statues under the water representing local people and legends. Fish friday is on each friday evening in the town of Gouyave where there is local music and steel bands, and locally caught and freshly cooked fish available as well as the local rum. A great evening out with local and friendly atmosphere. There is hiking trips available in the hills and volcanic mountains. Cycles are also available for hire.
How to get there
Excel Airways (XL.Com) flies there direct from Gatwick twice a week (sundays and thursdays). You can get flights, return from around £170 and on average £220.
BA also flies there, as does Virgin Atlantic. There is a jeep to hire at extra cost available from the owner of the apartment (£125 a week) or numerous car/jeep hire companies and this can be arranged on request, (average cost £160 a week).
If you hire the jeep owned by the apartment it will be £125 for the week. It is recommended that you hire a vehicle to see the island. (They drive on the left as we do in England).

Further details indoors: There are double doors at the entrance to the apartment, opening into the private garden, with furniture, and overlooking the beach and bay. There are approx 12 steps up to the apartment garden from the lane leading to the beach. There is a kitchen / lounge / diner with a mahogany dining table for 4 and a sofa bed which will sleep 2 people. There is a collapsible travel cot with baby changer.
Also available is a full length rattan sofa bed suitable for a child or small adult. The kitchen is small, along one wall, but has a full oven (gas) and a large fridge/freezer. Off this room is the bedroom with a large kingsize double bed or 2 singles. There is a bathroom off this room with a sink, bidet, full bath with shower over. There is air conditioning.
Further details outdoors: The double doors open onto the private garden, ideal for breakfast or that late night drink, over looking the bay and watching the magnificent sunset. There is a sunbed and table and chairs outside. There is a rattan sofa which it is possible to move outside if you require. There is a bar-b-que for outdoor use.
There are shrubs and bushes in the garden, but carefully trimmed to allow maximum views of the sea and beach as well as the surronding hillsides. This is a typical Caribbean beach where the Rhum Runner fun boat comes occassionally to bring cruise ship passengers for a few hours stopover.
Further details
Smokers are permitted on the outside areas, only please. The apartment is suitable for elderly but not infirm as there are approx 12 steps up to it, which are tiled, so can be slippery when wet, but ok if care taken. I would like a 30% deposit on booking and the balance 8 weeks before you travel. Also an £85 deposit is taken but returned if there are no breakages.
