Converted Chapel | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
Bluestone Church is a charming converted chapel dating back to 1859 nestling in the village of St Fillans in beautiful highland Perthshire. Queen Juliana of The Netherlands and Kathryn Hepburn took their holidays in St Fillans and said their prayers at The Bluestone Church . It's a holiday home with a difference and everything you could want for a wonderful relaxing holiday.
We offer modern, stylish and comfortable 4 star quality self-catering accommodation. The Bluestone Church enjoys an elevated position with private gardens and parking and is ideally suited for 2 to 4 guests. We are perfectly situated, near to Stirling, Crieff and Gleneagles as well as central between Glasgow to the west and Edinburgh in the East, all within an hours drive.
St Fillans is a pretty loch-side village, the scenery is quintessentially Scottish, with beautiful Loch Earn just 100 yards away which you can easily access for picnics, water-sports, fishing, bird spotting and many wonderful walks. There are red deer in the hills and Ospreys on the Loch. It's the perfect relaxing location to enjoy all that Scotland has to offer - beautiful scenery, outdoor activities including many golf courses as well as the many and varied visitor attractions.
The cottage is warm and cosy with a wood burning stove (fuel provided) being a feature of the open-plan kitchen, dining and sun room area. The comfortable lounge looks out to views over the River Earn and the hills beyond.

The village shop is almost next door and is ideal for most basic groceries, newspapers, alcohol and licences for the fishermen. They have a coffee shop offering excellent coffee, home baked cakes and a light menu which includes wonderful bacon butties and BLT's.
For golfers St Fillans has a nine hole Course which is a true delight. Just a short walk from the house it is situated in a stunning valley between the high hills and also offers clubhouse catering. For fishermen, purchase your licence next door and simply walk across the road to fish. If total relaxation is all you want then enjoy a glass of wine on the edge of the Loch and watch the sun go down.

About this location
The Perth and Kinross region
Perthshire is described as big tree country, and the gateway to the Scottish Highlands. A beautiful landscape of natural beauty, renowned for its Lochs and rivers and salmon and trout fishing.
There are many visitor attractions to enjoy - Stirling Castle, which has been acknowledged as one of the world's 40 best visitor attractions, Wallace's monument, Scone Palace, and The Famous Grouse Whisky Distillery in Crieff. Highland Games are held throughout the regions in the summer months and are a joy to behold.
The city of Perth is an architectural delight, a lovely old Scottish city on the banks of the mighty river Tay, and is well worth a visit.
Whatever your interests :- walking, hiking, climbing, cycling, fishing, water-sports, golfing, history, photography, gardens, sight-seeing, shopping, eating, drinking, or just soaking in Scotland's wonderfully rich and varied historical past, we hope to offer you a warm welcome at the Bluestone Church.
St Fillans is located in the beautiful Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. An area of outstanding natural beauty, with delightful towns and villages nearby to explore. The area is full of romantic castles and dramatic scenery, and its a great place to relax and enjoy a slower pace of life..
Situated on Loch Earn there are wonderful walks to enjoy amidst dramatic scenery, and you could bag a Monroe, Ben Vorlich is on the south shore of the Loch, or simply take your picnic down to the banks of the beautiful loch and relax.
Scotland is well known for its New Year celebrations. Hogmanay street parties are commonplace, and if you come to stay you could visit the neighbouring village of Comrie and watch the ancient ritual of 12 strong men in kilts parading around the village carrying burning cabers to ward off any ill spirits, accompanied by pipe bands in full highland dress, with revellers and dancing in the streets. When the bells ring out at midnight to bring in the New Year the flaming torches are hurled off the bridge and into the River Earn to extinguish the old year, and to bring in the New Year.
