Awel y Bryn is new this season to the holiday let market after being refurbished with a mix of contemporary and antique furniture and fittings. This detached, split level house close to the centre of Wales' smallest City offers light, airy spacious accommodation with five bedrooms - enough room for all the family (sleeps up to nine people plus a travel cot for a baby or toddler). From the entrance hall, four steps lead up to the bedroom wing consisting of two double rooms, one twin bedded room, one room with bunk beds and one single bedroom and the family bathroom with shower. All rooms have plenty of storage space and linen and bath towels are provided.

There is a separate shower room with WC and wash hand basin on the ground floor plus cloakroom, utility room and integral garage containing a 6ft x 3ft snooker/pool table as well as garden and beach toys. The main living area is on the top floor where you can enjoy panoramic sea views from the large windows, patio doors and balcony. To the South and West the view is across St Bride's Bay, Ramsey Island and Whitesands Bay where the rocky outcrop of 'Carn Llidi' dominates the skyline.

Beautiful sunsets are a regular sight and closer to the property you can see the Cathedral clock tower. The light, airy sitting room provides ample seating, television, DVD player and a selection of CD's, books and games. Double doors lead from the sitting room to the open-plan kitchen and dining area. The spacious, newly fitted kitchen is fully equipped with cooking and table wear, range cooker, fridge and dishwasher and a large table for you to gather for meals. There is another fridge/freezer in the utility room.

The back door ltakes you out of the kitchen down an external staircase to the car parking area and large enclosed garden.

We provide unlimited Wi-Fi internet access.

This comfortable, well positioned home is an ideal base for you to explore the Pembrokeshire Coast Path which is only 10 mins walk away or to relax on one of the many local beaches.

The St Davids Peninsula region

St Davids is situated in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park on the most westerly tip of Wales. As the only coastal National Park in Great Britain this area is a place of outstanding natural beauty. It is the smallest city in the UK and has a Cathedral and Bishop's Palace ruins set in a pictueresque valley alongside the River Alun.

Although St Davids has city status it is, in fact, a village that offers local amenities as well as art galleries, cafes, restaurants, gift and clothing shops. Stunning scenery forms the backdrop to numerous beaches and harbours that can be found along the coast line. The area is perfect for family holidays and for those who enjoy walking, surfing and outdoor pursuits as well as cultural and historical activities such as visiting castles or music festivals in the Cathedral.

The temperate climate allows these activities to be enjoyed all year round. Once discovered,many people return year after year to take advantage of this peaceful, unspoilt location and to enjoy the variety of leisure activities on offer.

St. Davids

From St Davids visitors can explore the surrounding area, heading north towards the market town of Fishguard and beyond to the Preseli Hills, Newport and Cardigan. By taking the coast road to Fishguard beaches such as Abereiddy (including the Blue Lagoon) and Abermawr can be accessed. Tregwynt Woolen Mill is also en route and the harbours of Porthgain and Abercastle can and also be found. Ferries to Ireland leave the port at Goodwick(next to Fishguard)which also provides a train link.

Heading south east from St Davids the harbour village of Solva can be found, offering fishing trips and the woollen mill at nearby Middle Mill is also worth a visit. A little further along the coast is spectacular Newgale beach, a favourite for surfers, followed by smaller beaches including Nolton, Druidstone, Broadhaven and Little Haven. The County town of Haverforwest has links via bus, road and rail towards Carmarthen, Swansea, Cardiff and beyond. Oakwood, Wales' biggest theme park, and The Blue Lagoon at Bluestone can be found a few miles East of Haverfordwest.

"A real home from home."

Excellent accomodation that was very well equipped, it had all the kitchen equipment that you would have in your own home e.g. Blenders, magimix etc. Due to this, we unusually had most meals in Awel y… More

"Wow - it's so good I don't really want to tell you about it!"

We rented the house to use as a base in St. David's to both relax in and plan outdoor activities in the St. David's area.

What a place!

Not only was Fiona's welcome very warm, as was the home made bara brith (and delicious), the house was too. It worked out fantastically because:

1. There are 5 bedrooms with 9 beds - great for a big group
2. The kitchen diner is a real hub of the house and allows for great conversation for all
3. It is upside down, meaning that we have a view over to the sea and can see the surf etc hitting the Bishop and Clark Islands - great for planning.
4. It is in the heart of St. David's, therefore a walk to the shops etc and a stumble home from the pub,
5. The garage opens up to the cars (and you can walk through the garage to the bedrooms), so no carrying gear too far up any steps.
6. Fiona and family are only a phone call away if we need help.
7. There is a fantastic balcony and great garden with loads of space.
8. For what we were doing, we had a range of beaches and coastline to explore within an 8 mile radius that kept us very busy and made us very tired!

"Great Holiday Accomodation"

Excellent property, roomy, clean and comfortable. Great location, quiet and only a couple of minutes walk to centre of town and coastal paths. Enjoyed sitting both in the garden and also on the balcony watching the sunsets in the evening. The owners very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Probably the best location for a holiday base in St Davids.

"A great home from home"

Great accommodation, especially for families. The house was well equipped and lovely and spacious. The view from the balcony was beautiful and especially useful for keeping an eye on the kids playing in the garden. There was enough space for the entire family and having the garage space to store all our beach stuff and wetsuits was great. The big plus was being able to bring the dog and as the garden is all enclosed so we had extra peace of mind. The owner sorted out a cot bed and high chair for the baby so we didn't have to bring everything with us. The house is a short walk from the centre of st davids and the cathedral and a five minute drive to whitesands beach, that we exploited to the full. The little touches were lovely, especially the fresh flowers and toys for the kids to play with. The owners were very nice and helpful. All in all this was an ideal place to stay with all the family in a perfect location.

"Great holiday home providing all you need"

With a group of 11 family members there was plenty of space for us all.
The accommodation was clean and to very good standard.
Great Kitchen providing everything required for a large group.
Lovely lounge with balcony providing wonderful views across the countryside.
Good size gardens with BBQ and seating for the sunny evenings.
An all round great holiday home that we would certainly use again.

"Lovely toddler friendly house in a great location"

We really enjoyed our stay in Awel y Bryn, helped by some glorious weather. The house is great, very toddler friendly with a number of toys and books available, and the kitchen had everything you could need in it. The views, especially the sunsets, were lovely too.

"Great holiday, fantastic location!"

We really enjoyed our holiday in St Davids. We had 2 young children with us as well as their grandparents and the house was ideal for everybody. Brilliant location only a short walk into town and local shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants etc. It was handy that there was a children's play park just across the road from the house, and the roads immediately surrounding the house are quiet meaning it was safe for the children to go out on their bikes too, as well as being able to enjoy the large garden. Lovely sea views from the balcony and only a short walk to the coast path too.

We were lucky to have good weather most days so managed a few trips to local beaches, there were some children's beach toys available at the house which was useful. There is plenty to do with children in the local area so we would love to come back again and explore the area further. The house was really well equipped and very homely, everything was clean and tidy.

"EXCELLENT"

Could not ask for more, very home from home with lovely views. Will definitely come back again. Washing and drying facilities available, pool table in the garage, Lovely garden at the front of house for children to play games with picnic table and chairs in the back for those nice long hot sunny nights where you can BBQ. Charcoal supplied for a small price. Lovely welcome pack when you arrive. Would definitely recommend.
