The West Wales/Pembrokeshire region
Pembrokeshire has a mild climate. The cottage is in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, the only coastal park in the UK. St.Davids is the birthplace of Wales's patron saint, and recognised as the Uk's smallest city., because of the site of the historic 12th century cathedral. There are restaurants, craft shops and galleries, and places of interest for all ages. St.Davids has its own Golf course, near famous Whitesands beach now with a new cafe facilities.
Newgale beach is a large expanse of sands on the St.Davids to Haverfordwest road with magnificent views, a favourite with families and surfers.
Haverfordwest is the nearest town for shopping and transport links.Pembrokeshire has a County Agricultural Show only the second biggest in Wales, every August. St.Davids has the Cathedral Festival every June, and attract visitors from all over the Uk.There are lots of leaflets about things to do and places to visit in the cottage. There is a cycle route at the end of the road which follows the coast and is signposted.
