There are huge sandy beaches, snow-capped mountains, dramatic castles, sleepy villages, bustling markets and some superb wines and food. Seasons and festivals are recognised and celebrated, people have time to stop and chat, and visitors are always made welcome.
Places within easy reach of St Cyprien are: St Cyprien Plage: Beautiful big sandy beach and warm seas, with lots of watersports for all ages and interests.
Golf: The international 27 hole golf course at St Cyprien is well-recognised.
Aqualand: Huge, fun-filled waterslide park with activities for all the family.
Collioure: Fascinating fishing village with a strong artistic past.
Cathar castles: Incredible castles from the 12th and 13th centuries clinging to the tops of mountains.
Carcassone: Amazing medieval walled city which played a key role in the Cathar wars of the 12th century.
Ceret: Very popular town with superb Saturday market and renowned museum of modern art.
Mount Canigou: Highest mountain in the area, and with a strong link to the Catalan culture.
The Little Yellow Train: Open-air train which winds up the valley with amazing views.
Ski resorts: The family-friendly ski resorts of Font Romeu and Les Angles are approximately 1.5 hours' drive away.
Spain: Only a few kilometres away, with the delights of Figueres (Dali museum), the Costa Blanca, Girona and Barcelona within easy reach. TGV from Perpignan to Figueres and Barcelona in summer 2013.
St Cyprien is an upmarket Mediterranean seaside resort with everything on hand for a wonderful visit.
The beach at St Cyprien Plage is one of the best in Europe. It has fine, white sands which stretch for 6 km. There is a lifeguard station on the beach very close to the penthouse.
St Cyprien international golf course with 27 holes is only 5 minutes' walk away. The course stretches over 200 between the sea and the lagoon, and was named 'golf course of the month' in 2 major golfing magazines.
The watersports that can be enjoyed at St Cyprien Plage include sailing, scuba diving, jet skiing, kite surfing, sea fishing trips, kayaking and boat trips around the Cote Vermeille.
Aqualand is a fabulous family-orientated water park and is situated close by.
The nearby Grande Stade les Capellans is a large sports complex with over 20 outdoor tennis courts including 6 indoor courts. It is internationally renowned and is where the French team do their winter training for the Davis Cup.
Within 5 minutes drive is the town of Canet which has an indoor Olympic sized swimming pool and is a base for members of the French Olympic team.
Within 5 minutes drive is the regional equestrian centre where you can ride ponies and horses.
For cycling enthusiasts, the roads near the apartment provide nice wide flat expanses which were taken by the Tour de France as it swept past in 2009. There is excellent mountain biking in the nearby Alberes which ascend to over 1200m. Road bikers can easily make it into the Pyrenees - within 70km you can find cols reaching over 1500m.

"Wonderful appartment with gorgeous views"
We stayed here for a week in August. The apartment is absolutely charming and has the most amazing views across the sea and the mountains. It is located at the quieter end of St Cyprien and therefore was a peaceful haven after a day out exploring or at the beach. A mere 10-15 minute stroll gets you into the main town centre where there are shops, restaurants etc. The apartment is a 2 minute walk to the lovely beach .. but also well located to explore the region and go up into the mountains. The apartment itself is a fantastic place to stay - spacious, light and all the mod cons you could want. But what really sells this place is the wonderful, spacious terrace that wraps itself around the apartment. It is equipped with comfortable seating, dining area and a plunge pool and it provides sun or shade any time of day - depending on where you choose to sit! Along with the breath-taking views, this place is an absolute winner and I recommend it wholeheartedly - it surely is the best apartment holiday rental in St Cyprien.
So pleased you had a great time and that you loved our beautiful apartment. Penny

"Great appartment with fantastic views"
Stayed at the end of June for 6 nights. The apartment was great, very well equipped and the map on the wall gave us dinner time conversation each night; the panoramic views were fantastic and the double sliding patio doors on each room were great for making the outdoors part of the indoor space. If only all apartments were this good!
Thanks - hope you visit us again! Penny

Really comfortable and well appointed apartment, with a most wonderful outlook. The location suited us more than we expected.close to the sea, easy walking to nearby shops and restaurants simple driving to Perpignan and even into Spain to the lovely city of Girona. The whole of the St Cyprien area is extremely pleasant and has lots to do other than just laying in the sun. We will surely return
