Home description
The apartment is fully furnished to a modern, comfortable standard. There are two bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin) and a sofa bed making it suitable for 6 visitors. A travel cot and booster seat are also available. The roomy living space comprises a separate bathroom and toilet, living room/kitchen and a south facing balcony. It is equipped with appliances to suit our visitors both in summer and winter. A TV/DVD has recently been installed.
Parking and a large swimming pool are on site while less than 5 minutes walk away there are local shops, bars and restaurants. Some of these facilities may only be open in the summer.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Pyrenees-Orientales region
There is a plentiful supply of maps and brochures for local attractions in the apartment . This area is part of the ancient and historic Catalan region that straddles the Franco/Spanish border along the breathtaking peaks of the Pyranees mountains. St Cyprien is an ideal starting place for visits down the coast to the coves and inlets of Collioure, Banyuls and on to the Spanish border. Inland Spain is only 30 minutes away. Among the close places of interest in Spain are the cheap shopping at Jonquera and Le Perthus, the museum of artist Salvador Dali at Figueres, for the ultimate surreal experience, and the Costa Brava leading on to Barcelona.
In the foothills and mountains are scores of picturesque towns and villages like Villfranche-de-Conflent, Prades and Ceret. In addition there are spectacular caves, gorges, thermal baths and mountaintop Cathar castles such as Perepeteus. On your travels stop at the 'etangs' to spot the flamingos and other water birds.
Vineyards stretch from the Mediterranean right up the slopes into the mountains. There are oportunities for vineyard visits and degustations in famous wine villages like Fitou, Banyuls, La Tour de France and Caramany.
Perpignan offers all the facilities of a city including shopping, entertainment, restaurants, markets, historic buildings and international sporting venues.
The winter season offers mild temperatures on the coast with the possibility of skiing in the mountains, at Mont Louis and other nearby modern ski stations, just a 1½ hour drive away .
St Cyprien / St Cyprien Sud area
St Cyprien has the second largest marina on the Mediterranean coast where thousands of stunning boats of all sizes are moored. Sailing, scuba diving and boat trips to Collioure, Banyuls and to Roses in Spain, are on offer.
For the energetic, water sports, bike riding, horse riding and walking are just a few of the activities close by. The local ‘Grand Stad’ offers international standard facilities for tennis, squash and a gym. Meanwhile the renowned 27 hole St Cyprien golf course is just ‘a drive and long iron away‘.
For those who want to simply relax, the wide sandy beach is only 5 minutes drive away (15 minutes walk round the lagoon). Even closer there is Aqualand with its flumes and water slides for the kids.
There are plenty of bars and restaurants both at the local Commercial Centre and the Marina, St Cyprien Plage.
How to get there
By air - Ryanair to Perpignan ½ hr to St Cyprien. Alson Girona (1hr), Montpellier (1½ hr), Carcassonne (1½ hr), Toulouse (2 hr), Nimes (2 hr). Flybe from Southampton to Perpignan. Easyjet from Gatwick to Toulouse. BA from Gatwick to Montpellier. We recommended organising car hire through airline links for cheaper prices.
By road - Calais to Perpignan 10 -12 hours depending on route and traffic. Maybe stop over on the way.
By rail - TGV to Perpignan via Lille or Paris.
