West View is a modern purpose built holiday bungalow that provides comfortable, good value accommodation for the self-catering holiday maker. The bungalow is decorated to a high standard throughout. Free WiFi is now available.
It is situated at Rosecraddoc Lodge, a collection of bungalows, all privately owned, built in the grounds of the old Rosecraddoc Manor. There is a public house that serves the site, but no noisy night clubs, amusement arcades or swimming pools. This is for people and families who are looking for a peaceful holiday in the countryside. It is however, close enough to major roads to make it easy to visit the attractions of Cornwall and West Devon on day trips before returning to 'base' each evening.

The bungalow has two bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a double bed while Bedroom 2 has two single beds. Other rooms are the lounge with separate dining room, a very well-equipped kitchen and a shower room/w.c.
Entry through the back door brings you into the well -equipped kitchen with a four-ring ceramic hob, overhead extractor, oven and grill, a microwave oven, toaster and refrigerator. There is also a wide range of cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery. The washing machine is concealed in cupboard space.
The comfortable lounge area has seating for four people on a three-piece suite, a small coffee table and nested tables, a television, a video player and a cassette tape deck/radio. An efficient night-storage heater is well situated to spread warmth around the bungalow, plus a portable radiator if needed.
The main bedroom has a double bed with built-in cupboard space above, maximising space in the room. The bright, well decorated room also has plenty of shelving and is also equipped with an electric wall heater and hair drier. The second bedroom has two single beds and a chest of drawers. Again, the room is equipped with an electric heater. A pull-down single bed is also kept in the dining room sliding door cupboard. This is also home to the iron and ironing board.
The well decorated bathroom includes the toilet, a wash-basin and an enclosed power shower.

To the rear of the bungalow is a patio with garden furniture, right by the stream. A portable barbecue is kept in the garden storage box, as are the chairs for the garden table. There is also an allocated space for one car.
Fishing permits for a nearby small lake are available for purchase from The Village Inn.
The Cornwall region
Cornwall is the number one holiday destination in England for good reason,with something for everyone including spectacular coastline, great beaches, small fishing villages hidden away, rolling countryside, moorland and many places of interest.
Our visitors enjoy a variety of activities according to their age and tastes. Those with young children may enjoy the beaches and the farms, particularly Trethorne Leisure Farm, the Tamar Donkey Sanctuary or perhaps the nearby Monkey Park. Those without children may enjoy some of the many National Trust properties or gardens in the county, or just exploring the varied countryside with walks over the moors or along the rugged coastline. Many will want to discover the settings for novels written by the likes of Daphne du Maurier and Rosamunde Pilcher, whose 'Day of the Storm' was adapted for German television.
Those with an interest in history will enjoy a day out in Plymouth or Bodmin or discovering the old tin mines or China Clay works. Some may like to travel on one or two of the local railways, including the Liskeard-Looe branch line or the steam trains from Bodmin or over Dartmoor.
The possibilities seem endless and it's likely that one trip to Cornwall will not be enough!
Liskeard is an old Stannary town in south-east Cornwall. Most of our visitors use the supermarkets in Liskeard, although many prefer the local produce available in the Farm shop at St. Cleer, just a couple of minutes drive from Rosecraddoc.
The nearest coastal town is Looe, famous as a fishing port, supplying some of the best fish to the markets in London and Europe. Close to Looe is Polperro, famous for its narrow streets leading down to the coast.
Bodmin Moor has a long history of tin mining and today the ruins of old mines provide interest for walkers and historians. Some of our visitors enjoy a short trip to either Sibleyback or Colliford Lakes. Fishing is available at both.
Dartmoor provides an opportunity for ramblers to discover the famous tors and to enjoy the spectacular scenery of south-west Devon, while Plymouth provides a complete contrast as a busy coastal city with its maritime traditions.

"with a few things sorted will stay again."
we were happy with the site, apart from all the water but thats no bodys fault, a lot of condensation in the bungalow, ( no vents in windows & walls ), heater in room not working but they had left a alternative, cooker oven & grill not working,when we arrived we spent 1hour cleaning the place, looked like it had not been hoovered since the last booking, we picked up at least a bowl of grapes scattered around the place does nobody hoover under chairs & settees & dinning tables,after a good tidy up we liked it a lot , nice beds brilliant bathroom, nice lounge with a proper telly, & every thing you needed in the kitchen ( apart from oven & grill ), & yes we are thinking of letting the new year in this year there again.

Thank-you for your comments.The oven/cooker/grill are always turned off at the socket when the bungalow will possibly sustain long periods between lets, as in the 'off season'. This is for safety reasons. The oven instruction book is in a drawer in the kitchen, opened at the page giving instructions to set the time, you would then be able to operate the oven/grill/hob. So sorry this was not clear to you. I will, in future include this information with all the other information left for you to peruse. We have two new Economy 7 heaters on order, which will be installed very shortly, as you found, there was a temporary replacement plus the existing wall mounted heater in the dining area. With regard to the cleaning/hoovering, we have spoken to our cleaner and it would appear that there was some kind of misunderstanding relating to a relative of ours who stayed at around the same time as you with the agreement that clean bedding would be provided but other things done by them. We are very sorry that the mix-up appears to have resulted in you not finding the bungalow as we would normally expect you to find it. We are pleased that you were impressed with the general decor and furnishing throughout. We intend putting in a fresh new kitchen during the coming season too. We look forward to you returning and finding the bungalow properly cleaned next time.

"West View - delightful and wonderfully positioned"
We visited over Christmas 2011 and New Year. The bungalow is delightful and wonderfully positioned. As soon as we walked in we felt at home. We enjoy a quiet holiday and this property was perfect for us. We appreciated the detailed directions and found the customer service outstanding. The location and layout of the bungalow is very much as per the listing although there is a stream just yards from the rear patio area and in the good weather it is a lovely and quite private area to sit (there appears to be only a bedroom window of the bungalow next door overlooking this area). The facilities include those listed, together with a DVD player and a CD player (both with a small selection of DVD's/CD's), iron and ironing board, clothes airer, two lap trays, and a vacuum cleaner). There is also a first aid kit under the bathroom sink. The fridge has a small freezing compartment therein and fits neatly under the worktop. The towels provided were: one hand towel, one bath towel and one flannel per person. A package of 'to do' brochures for the area was also provided. The décor is bright and modern and the artwork is lovely. The curtains are of good, heavy quality and this gives a cosy feeling in the evenings. The bathroom is shown to great effect in the photographs. The bungalow and grounds are clean and well maintained. We slept in the ‘front’ bedroom and although the 4’ bed felt small as we are used to a king size, it was a very comfortable mattress. With the fitted units, you could not have a larger bed in there in any case. Although there is limited wardrobe space we found it more than adequate for two, especially as the area lends itself to a casual holiday (no formal wear required!). The three piece suite in the lounge is also very comfortable. Morrisons supermarket within three miles. Overall, we had a relaxing and refreshing holiday and intend to visit again. We have been recommending this propery to our friends and family too. In this price range this bungalow is more than worth a visit.
