The West Country / Cornwall region

Miles of stunning coastline form the perfect background to Cornish folk tales and legend.
Warmed by the Gulf Stream, there's no better climate for walking, cycling, sailing and fishing.
The south coast offers small coves and historically, smugglers retreats, and the north coast has miles of golden sands with wonderful coastal walks and surfing opportunities.
The mild climate allows the numerous gardens in Cornwall to blossom early and is home to many unusual and exotic plants.
Rugged Bodmin moor is steeped in history and offers wonderful scenery and wildlife.
Spoilt for choice but plenty to offer everyone.

St Austell area

A rural hamlet, Rescorla is surrounded by walks, trails and bridleways, lying adjacent, as it does, to the tranquil Luxulyan Valley, famed for its natural beauty.
Within a 20 mile radius are Bodmin, Lostwithiel, Fowey, Newquay, Padstow and Truro. These are just a few of the more notable towns close to Rescorla.
Nearby, the Wheal Martyn Museum provides a unique insight into the history of the Clay Country and it's people.
Places to visit include the Eden Project (1 mile distance), the Lost Gardens of Heligan, various National Trust properties (Including Lanhydrock being the closest), The Tate Gallery at St Ives, The National Maritime Museum at Falmouth and many, many more. You really are spoilt for choice.
For gardening enthusiasts what better place to start than the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Tresilian Gardens (home to John Harris the 'moon gardener') plus the many, many more gardens in Cornwall.
For railway enthusuasts you must visit the Bodmin and Wenford steam railway.
Charlestown has tall masts ships in its small harbour and every one wonders how the ships actually get into the harbour - not the biggest place to manouver these huge magnificent ships.
Every May the Daphne Du Maurier festival is held at Fowey (8 miles away) and famous names hold a full week of activities.
King Arthur's castle at Tintagel is a must to visit. Steeped in history and standing on a cliff with stunning views and scenery whilst close by is Boscastle - hitting the news with the devastating floods in August 2006.
Much, much more to visit in the area so come and see it.
