The West Country / Cornwall region
The Beach House faces out to sea on the sheltered south coast of Cornwall. Located between the maritime villages of Charlestown and Pentewan, and hidden below the china clay town of St Austell. The climate is mild all year and the air moist and scented with the rich foliage and salt laden. The beach at Porthpean below the house is the perfect place fora bucket and spade holiday with rock pools, calm waters and warm shallows. Spectacular coastal scenery all around makes for an invigorating walking holiday and Porthpean Golf club set on the hills above the house is a 5 minutes walk away. The maritime port of Charestown, 20 minutes walk away is home to the beautiful tall ships, an impressive sight out in the bay with all their rigging and sails up.
St Austell / Porthpean area
Porthpean is an excellent place to start exploring Cornwall, with the Eden Project only twenty minutes drive away as is The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the nations favourite garden. The exquisite river estuary town of Fowey is also nearby and is a great place to hire a boat for a days sailing or mackerel fishing or just to wander the narrow Georgian streets and enjoy the many restaurants and shops. The sea can be heard from all the rooms at theBeach House, so just kicking back and taking in the relaxed vibe is a tranquil and rejuvenating way to spend your time. You can book up one of our therapists for a series of spa treatments from aromatherapy to Indian Head massage or spend a day kayaking with Porthpean Outdoor Activity Centre.
