The West Country / Cornwall region

Cornwall is the land of myth, magic, saints, smugglers, King Arthur and the evident history of the tin miners who first brought prosperity to the region. Cornwall is now a land of rural beauty, scenic coastline, and a great holiday desination. Apart from holiday visitors, it has attracted painters, artists, and crafts folk as well as organic food producers who take a pride in the qualifty of food. The countryside features reminders of ancient history, with standing stones, atmospheric moorlands, gardens and tourist friendly activities. North Cornwall (a short drive away) has stunning and dramatic surfing beaches, very popular with kids and young adults. South Cornwall has a milder and gentler climate. The South Cornwall Coastal walk (153 miles from Land's End to Plymouth!) runs beside the property and provides breathtaking views of the area. The climate suits itself to garden visits at all times of the year. The famous Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project are close by, as well as many others. Cornwall is very child-friendly and proves many attractions for children. For futher information, log on to Cornwall Tourist Board and Wikipedia are very helpful websites.
