The West Country region

Location is everything and when it comes to spectacular scenery, a cottage in Cornwall is hard to beat. Think picturesque countryside peppered with sleepy hamlets and a coastline to take your breath away. Add a wonderfully mild climate and award-winning attractions, little wonder it ranks as one of the UK's top holiday destinations.

Imagine vast curves of soft, sugary sands - ideal for families with buckets and spades and surfing those long, rolling waves. The coastal path promises invigorating walks and amazing views. Picturesque fishing villages ooze charm and atmosphere, with quaint old inns rubbing shoulders with trendy bars and cosmopolitan restaurants. And culinary delights certainly abound from celebrity dining with Stein and Oliver, to lip-smacking fish and chips and the humble and ever so crumbly Cornish pasty.

Expect an arty crowd at the Tate St. Ives and Barbara Hepworth Museum, with its unique sculptures using natural materials. Green fingered folk and lovers of nature will adore the mysterious Lost Gardens of Heligan and award-winning Eden Project - a great day out for all the family! And don't miss a trip to St. Michael's Mount, a sub-tropical island paradise topped with a fairytale castle. Something for everyone when you book one of our cottages in Cornwall!

St Austell

The quiet village of Tregrehan Mills is close to the Eden Project, Luxulyan Valley and Tregrehan House. A place worth visiting is St Austell brewery, which was founded in 1851 and is the main supplier of ales to Cornwall. Also close by are the beaches at Carlyon Bay, Porthpean and Charlestown. Also near by are the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the fishing village of Mevagissey. There is plenty to see and do within this part of Cornwall.
