The Sail Loft nestles in the old high street which is a pretty cobbled lane just a stones throw from the village and harbour area. A great choice of restaurants and bars as well as a selection of shops incuding a mini supermarket, delicatessen, art gallery, hair dressers. This location is one of the true delights of Jersey.

This brand new 1 bedroom apartment sleeps up to 4 people plus an infant. Arrival days in peak season are Saturday to Saturday with more flexibility and short breaks available from mid September to mid May. Read on for a more detailed description.

Careful thought and consideration has been given to provide a delightful environment for holiday guests. Quality fixtures and fittings have been used throughout. The fully equipped accommodation has full cooking facilities, dishwasher, washer-dryer and WiFi internet access. There is limited parking available on a pre-booked basis and a small shared terrace with table and chair.

The building has an interesting history dating back to at least 1796. It is believed the building was originally a stable block for one of the large merchant houses on the opposite side of the street and was of course also used as a workshop for one of the local boat yards.

The Jersey region

Jersey is a fascinating island with a diverse history, very different to the UK mainland or indeed France. The Channel Islands are warmed by the Gulf Stream which helps make Jersey the sunniest and warmest place in Britain.

The beaches are stunning and are great locations for people watching or a leisurely stroll. There are regular food festivals and the now famous Tennerfest eating event in October/November where over 100 restaurants offer specially reduced menus.

Talking of food we are very lucky with the massive range of restaurants serving lots of local produce as well as fresh fish and different food styles from around the world as well as traditional British Fare. The fish market is a must-see in St Helier and a real experience. A delight if you enjoy cooking and lots of things to put on the barbecue too.

The Channel Islands are the only part of Britain to be occupied during the Second World War and this is well documented at award winning venues throughout the island. You can visit the Ancient Mont Orgueil castle where the atmosphere of times gone past have been recreated. the Hamptonne Museum shows farm life in Jersey as it was in the 17th Century. Its so authentic that filming took place here for a famous Hollywood movie (whose name I forget right now: answers on a postcard!) We believe it was 'Under the Greenwood Tree' and starred Keeley Hawes.

For the younger ones there is a lively nightlife in St Helier with lots of bars and clubs to dance the night away.

St. Aubin

The pretty village of St Aubin is one of Jersey's most sought after holiday locations. The beautiful harbour area is surrounded by an array of restaurants and bars. The extensive choice of restaurants covers a huge variety of nationalities and styles from casual reasonably priced dining to more sophisticated high end cuisine. The whole area is a delight and has its own personality which is complemented by regular farmers markets and special events. This great location gives you the convenience of all the local amenities without the hustle and bustle of the main town.

Golf: There are a number of golf courses throughout the island.

The closest is only a few minutes drive or a bus ride away.
