It also has several hammocks to snooze away the warm days.Outside, there is plenty of room for the children to play and explore.

The Dordogne region
For many years, British travellers have been fascinated by, "the Dordogne", an area of France that conjures up an image of a return to rural life at a slow pace; it has even been said that the Dordogne, for the English, is imagined not really as an area of modern France - which it is - but more as an imaginary reproduction of a bygone rural England - which of course it is not - rather like a warmer and sunnier version of the old Cotswolds, where the houses are built of honey-coloured stone, the meadows are green and rich,
The heart of the Dordogne area is its capital Perigueux: the French tend to refer to this area not as "la Dordogne" but as "le Périgord", and in France the area is most famous for its gourmet delights, notably paté de foie gras, walnuts and truffles.
Saint Astier has everything you need. There are several supermarkets, bakeries and butchers for your shopping. You can also enjoy plentiful restaurants and bars in the centre of town.
The town regularly offers free carnivals with a variety of themes, from music, theatre, dance and horse shows. These are always very popular and fun for all.
The town also benefits from a large market every Thursday morning, where the locals not only buy their provisions, but it is also an opportunity to meet their friends for chat and maybe a coffee or a beer!
Saint Astier sits on the river Isle, where you can enjoy fishing, canoeing or just enjoy strolling along its banks. There are a number of well marked walks in the area too, taking in some beautiful views.
