The Midi-Pyrenees region
While your here don't miss other lovely towns in the area.
Najac, a bastide hilltop town, with its castle looking down over the cobbled streets.
Cordes, large and spectacular hillside town with its mini train to the main square and castle.
Albi, home of the Toulouse Lautrec museum and the famous pink cathederal.
Try to visit the beautiful wine region of Gaillac and sample the wines at one of the many Domains.
St Antonin Noble Val
Saint Antonin has a full programme of events starting with the giant Easter egg parade that runs along the cobbled streets of the town to the hillclimb of the racing cars that takes place on the twisting narrow roads just on the outskirts of the town. For the more active visitors we have bikes at the house and local maps for great days out. Also available locally, caving, pot-holing, hang-gliding and the Festival de blues which is held about the 7th August.
There is a swimming lake just 20 mins drive from the house.
Hire a kayak, take a picnic and meander down the river between the dramatic gorges, stopping off to enjoy the scenery and take a swim.
Never forget to visit the bustling Sunday market a memorable experience with its buskers, and vendors tables piled high with zucchini flowers, cheeses, straw baskets................. just try it.
