It is a lovely 3 bedroomed semi detached property with 1large en-suite shower room, ideal for the family holidays and / or a base for golfing. There is off-street parking for 2 cars, a lovely and very child safe large garden at the back which is a sun trap, there are plenty of toys to keep the youngsters amused & a separate BBQ area.
Within the property the rooms are all freshly decorated, it has a nice feel to it and has all mod cons, including Satellite TV. There is gas central heating if need be and also a decent family bathroom.
Hunter Mahan the professional golfer stayed there during the 2010 Golf Open.
All in all this is a great property in a great location, next to the Botanic Gardens which are well worth a visit.

The garden is absolutely wonderful and even has its own palm tree ! It is large, very safe and child friendly play area with its own BBQ zone.
There is off-street parking for 2 cars and you are at the end of the quite Viaduct pathway which leads you right into St Andrews town centre.

St Andrews is one of Scotlands most popular holiday destinations. It has much history surrounding it and is a great place for families and golfers alike.
The local beaches are excellent, the golf courses too, there are some great restaurants and bars and St Andrews is a very pleasant place to stroll around in. The property is also in a central location to visit the coastal villages of the East Neuk, Anstruther, Pittenweem etc
The St Andrews area
There is obviously the golfing events which are held regularly at St Andrews. There is also a local festival during early August however the most appealing thing about St Andrews is that it is a nice and relatively peaceful environment which does not need funfairs to attract families.
There is also Craigton Park (a short drive away) which is great for kids, and adults too. Cycling can also be fine and there are a number of cycle routes in the area.
The Botanic Gardens are right next door to the property and are worth visiting.

Our family of 4 (2 girls aged 2 years and 4 months respectively) stayed at 20 Cannongate in June 2011. We had a fantastic time. The accommodation was excellent, 3 large bedrooms, master with en-suite, gave us loads of space with no need to share rooms. Even when Grandparents came to stay overnight there was plenty of space to have the travel cot and two adults in either the twin or the double room. The living area down stairs was spacious with plenty of seating and the kitchen was large with a table easily big enough for 4 adults. Where the house offered that bit extra was the gardens which were fantastic for the kids to play in – especially with it being so well kept. The abundance of kids toys, games and jigsaws available was a bonus and kept our daughter (and her dad) occupied for hours. If only the weather had been better there could have been a swingball champion in the making as well. The location of the house is perfect for a holiday in St Andrews – 10 mins max walk into the town centre, 15 to the West Sands. The fact that you can walk along the viaduct is even better as keeps the kids away from the busy roads. I presume if you are reading this review you will know what St Andrews has to offer but to reiterate we had something to do every day, come rain, hail or shine (and we got all of them). A great choice for a summer family break. Really don't have much to quibble about at all but a dishwasher would have been a bonus to save the time of washing dishes and a minor point ,which may be important for others, is no sky/cable TV in June. A really great place to spend a family holiday – we can't wait to go back. |
