Lawpark Cottage is the separate wing of Lawpark House which was built in 1620 and is in a conservation area in old St Andrews. The property has been lovingly restored, completely re-furbished, has full central heating and is carefully maintained. There is a secluded terrace to the rear which overlooks a bird sanctuary and a delightful walk to the town centre through the Lade Braes walkway. The main entrance is directly off the car parking area and is at ground floor level with no stairs. There is a large heated front porch which is ideal for storing golf clubs, prams, wellies and even for drying off wet dogs!

Although golf is the most famous attraction, the town beaches are stunning and the East Neuk of Fife nearby is famous for fishing villages, harbours, sailing and art.

Bright and sunny with three rooms opening out onto secluded terrace (main picture view). The property is on two floors although the master bedroom and main bathroom are on the ground floor with the public rooms. Two of the four double bedrooms can either have 1 double bed each or 2 twin beds each.

There is off street private car parking at front door with space for two/three cars. (Additional on street parking freely available.) Access is all on one level from here. The private terrace at the rear looks out over the garden of Lawpark House only and is sheltered and secluded. The Lade Braes park is accessible from the side of the cottage and leads into St Andrews town centre by way of a secluded walkway. Several children's play areas are located in the park.

Further details

£250 deposit is required on booking. The balance should be paid 4 weeks prior to the booking date. Entry into the property is after 3 pm on the arrival day and vacation is by 10am on the morning of the departure day unless by special arrangement.

The Fife region

Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland and home of the Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh castle, Holyrood Palace and many many tourist attractions. Full of restaurants, coffee shops, and interesting and varied shops it is a wonderful place for a city centre break.

In August the Edinburgh Festival brings productions from all over the world and along with the Fringe events means that there is no shortage of choice of programmes. The annual Edinburgh Tattoo situated in the Castle Esplanade high up overlooking the city is a spectacular show - not to be missed

The airport is a short 20 minute bus or taxi ride from the city centre and flights from all major airports both within the UK and beyond are frequent.

St. Andrews

The historic town of St Andrews is one of the most famous places in Britain, being home of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club and the famous Old Course. It is also the home of Scotland’s oldest University founded in 1411, the Byre Theatre, the magnificent ruins of the castle and cathedral overlooking the rocks and beaches and a wide variety of specialist shops and restaurants.

Apart from golf on any one of 6 courses in St Andrews and many more throughout the East Neuk of Fie, there is tennis, walking, sailing, fishing and many more outdoor activities available. Two long beaches allow not only walking and exercise but the West Sands beach has space allocated fro kite flying, beach buggies and kite boarding

"Looked amazing but there were drawbacks"

As with all our guests I send arrival information by email on receipt of the full payment and this was sent to you. I do appreciate people lose things and so I sent it again immediately after you phoned the day before arrival to say you still did not know how to gain access. This time I asked you to confirm receipt and you did.
You are quite right to say that I do live very close to Lawpark Cottage and so it was for this reason that I had to come to the Cottage at 11.30pm on the second (and last) night of your visit. This was a week night and I had to come round as my neighbours had complained about the excessive noise you and your friends were making and the foul language they could hear quite clearly being shouted from inside the Cottage through an open window. I knocked on the outside porch door but neither you nor your friends responded so I assumed you had not heard me due to the noise you were all making. I knocked again on the inside porch door and shouted 'hello' very loudly but still you did not hear me so I did come in. When I did meet you in the hallway one of your friends called me 'the f--------g landlord'. I asked you very politely to reduce the noise you were making as the neighbours had complained and left.
There is a clause in the contract you signed (Clause no.2) that states you must 'use the cottage as normal residential accommodation in a manner which will preserve the amenity of the neighbourhood and avoid nuisance or inconvenience to the neighbours'. Despite your being in clear breach of this I did not ask you to leave immediately ( I assumed no-one would have been able to legally drive) but allowed you to stay until the morning and leave at normal check out time. I also did not charge you for the breakages (fridge shelf and glass wear) or the additional cleaning needed after someone had left a mess in the bathroom presumably as they had been unwell.
I do agree with your comment that you will not be back as you would not be welcome back. It is however at odds with what you wrote in the visitor book which was that you had a lovely time in the Cottage and would be back.
I hope that this now clarify the position regarding any possible return for you or any of your friends.
