The Fife region
The East Neuk of Fife is home to golf, fishing villages, the 3rd oldest University in the UK with plenty to explore and visit, including Scotland's Secret Bunker, where Scotland would have been run from in case of nuclear war.
The Royal and Ancient Golf Club, arbiter of the Rules of Golf worldwide except for North America is on the links, only a few minutes walk from Howard Place.
St Andrews is world famous as the home of golf and of having the 3rd oldest University in the English-speaking world, celebrating it's 600 th Anniversary in 2013. The town is rich in history, including the remains of the cathedral and has more than its fair share of excellent restaurants, shops and pubs due to the University, tourists and hosting major golf championships, including The Open every 5 years, as well as the Dunhill Cup every October.
