The Midi-Pyrenees region

This region is the largest rural area in France with its capital Toulouse. It has a consistent record for sunny summers and is famous for its vineyards.

Tourist attractions include: Toulouse, the pink city, with its cathedral and Canal du Midi; Albi, the birthplace of Toulouse Lautrec and a world heritage centre; Lourdes, the most famous Catholic pilgrimage centre in France; the Pyrenees National Park and the amazing world's highest road bridge at Millau.

St Andre de Najac

There are numerous villages with weekly markets and famous towns such as Villefranche de Rouergue and Albi with its huge cathedral and the place where Toulouse Lautrec was born.

You can visit his house and a museum.

Available too are golf courses, tennis courts and sailing on the rivers Tarn, Viaur and Aveyron.

The nearby Cordes sur Ciel is a hill top village with a castle.
