It is close to the wild and beautiful departments of the Ardeche and the Cevennes, the latter made famous by Robert Louis Stevenson in his book "Travels with a Donkey".

Avignon, famous for the Papal Palace where 7 Popes resided in the 14th century.

Ryanair has regular flights from Luton and Liverpool to Nimes (http://www.ryanair.com/site/EN/). Car hire is available at Nimes airport (http://www.nimes-aeroport.fr). The journey from Nimes airport to St Denis is approximately 80kms (1 hour 15 minutes).
Flights are also available to Montpelier on Ryanair (from Bristol and Stansted) and Easyjet
(http://www.easyjet.com) from Gatwick and Luton. Car hire is available at Montpelier airport(http://www.montpellier.aeroport.fr). The journey from Montpelier airport to St Denis is approximately 120kms (1 hour 30 minutes).
Flybe (http://www.flybe.com) and Jet2 ( http://www.jet2.com) fly into Avignon from Southampton and Exeter and Leeds and Edinburgh respectively. Car hire is available at Avignon airport (http://www.avignon-airport.com/Car-Hire/). The journey from the airport to St Denis is approximately 90kms (1 hour 45 minutes).
The closest SNCF station is at Ales (25kms, 30 minutes) and the closest TGV station is at Nimes (65kms, 1 hour).
St Denis is approximately an hour from both the A7 and A9 autoroutes.

This was our third stay at Le Mas des Bignones and the experience just keeps getting better! It has been wonderful seeing the farmhouse develope from a beautifully renovated house into a sophisticated yet rustic, mature property which provides the perfect enviroment in which to relax. Set within surrounding walls, it is a great place to sit and wind down while enjoying all the great local food and drink. We particularly enojyed a visit to the local trout farm where we chose our dinner for the evening from a huge range of trout and salmon trout, which was prepared for us, so all we needed to do was return 'home' and fire up the BBQ in the summer kitchen- less than 15 minutes from swimmming to plate!!
The farmhouse is a very short drive from two very good supermarkets which is essential for a comfortable stay. There is a cracking wine shop in St. Amboix (turn left at the bottom of the hill coming in to the town!!) and Barjac is a great place to wander around, especially on market day on Fridays. There are some amazing caves to visit close by in the National Park and the Lussan pottery is well worth a visit which is less than 15 minutes by car. All in all, loads to do if simply sunning yourself by the pool and drinking the odd glass of Rose gets too much!!

A beautiful property with style and substance. I have stayed in quite a few holiday villas and I have to say that Andrew and Christian have provided a perfect getaway for their guests. The house is stunning and capacious - the gardens are tranquil and the pool house and facilities with the pool are brilliant. The standard of facilities - from lovely beds, plenty of towels, a great well equipped kitchen ( kitchens actually! ), great stereo system, I could go on and on, meant that it worked on a practical level as well as looking beautiful. There are many little touches that make living and settling in effortless. There is ALOT of space!! We were a party of 11 and we all could find space to relax. Our party was a mix of ages - adults, teenagers and youngsters, and the house was a hit with everyone. Usanna was lovely, as was Dave who looked after the pool.
