About the home

Stunningly restored with original character features the property has 340 square meters of accommodation, with 5 double bedrooms and 4 bathroom/shower rooms. Set in 1500 square meters of walled, landscaped grounds with pool.

The ground floor features a large living room with a stone fireplace, fully equipped modern kitchen, dining room, conservatory opening on to the pool and garden, TV room with sofa bed, entrance hall and laundry room/WC. There is also a large double bedroom with an en suite shower room.

On the first floor, the master suite provides a large double bedroom with en suite bathroom and its own living room with mezzanine and fireplace. There are a further 3 double bedrooms, 2 shower rooms, a second fully equipped kitchen/living room with a sofa bed and a large terrace with fantastic views to the south.

There is a surround sound stereo system in the living room on the ground floor.

Hot water in the summer is provided by means of solar power. In the winter, there is central heating (radiators/under floor) provided by a bio mass boiler.

Part of the first floor can be configured as a self contained apartment with a fully equipped kitchen.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Gard region

The region enjoys great weather with over 300 days of sunshine each year.

It is close to the wild and beautiful departments of the Ardeche and the Cevennes, the latter made famous by Robert Louis Stevenson in his book "Travels with a Donkey".

Other attractions include:
Nimes (the origin of the word denim) with its Roman arena and Maison Carre (or square house).
Avignon, famous for the Papal Palace where 7 Popes resided in the 14th century.
Uzes, the beautiful medieval town where parts of Cyrano de Bergerac were filmed.
The Camargue, the dramatic Rhone delta with an abundance of wildlife, the historic fortress town of Aigues-Mortes and beaches.
The Roman aqueduct of the Pont du Gard.

Flights are also available to Montpelier on Ryanair (from Bristol and Stansted) and Easyjet
(http://www.easyjet.com) from Gatwick and Luton. Car hire is available at Montpelier airport(http://www.montpellier.aeroport.fr). The journey from Montpelier airport to St Denis is approximately 120kms (1 hour 30 minutes).

Flybe (http://www.flybe.com) and Jet2 ( http://www.jet2.com) fly into Avignon from Southampton and Exeter and Leeds and Edinburgh respectively.
