The West Country / Cornwall region

Cornwall is an ideal holiday destination with its mild climate, dramatic coast line, beautiful countryside, wonderful sandy beaches and its abundance of folklore, legends and celtic origins.

St Agnes area

St. Agnes is a picturesque Cornish village located on the North Coast and steeped in local mining history. St. Agnes offers year round activities for all the family with dramatic coastline and a fantastic choice of beaches such as Trevaunance Cove, Chapel Porth, Trevellas Porth and Porthtowan, some offering great surfing. The village offers a wealth of art galleries and craft shops, has its own Musuem and a village Church which is worth a visit to see its unusual poor box. The legend of the Giant Bolster is still celebrated today with the Bolster Pageant and the Bolster Ball and the annual August Carnival. One sight not to be missed is the famous row of Stippy Stappy sea captain's cottages. The village makes an ideal centre for walking and cycling holidays with cycle paths between Portreath and Devoran. There are many beautiful walks along the coastal footpaths and inland, with the cliffs and coves and the mixture of wildlife making it a stunning area to visit. Turtles, sunfish, porpoises and dolphins are sometimes seen in addition to the more common seals and sea birds. There are some excellent local Restaurants, Cafes and Pubs, some of which offer live music.
