The West Country region

Why go abroad when you can come to Cornwall?!

Dramatic coastline, miles of sandy beaches, picturesque harbours and villages, rugged countryside and a fascinating heritage – Cornwall has something to offer in every season.

A mecca for surfers, Cornwall has dozens of surfing beaches each with their own unique character. Why not try a lesson from one of our surf schools? Cornwall's most popular beaches are lifeguarded throughout the summer, and with many beaches stretching for miles with soft golden sands it's a great place for families to play and relax.

Cornwall is also a walkers' paradise, with over 2,000 miles of public footpaths, including the famous South West Coast Path, amongst other routes and trails. With nearly 1/3 of the county designated as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty you will never be short of incredible sights in Cornwall, from natural phenomenon such as the bizarre Cheesewring on the wilds of Bodmin Moor, to the causeway at St Michael's Mount or even catching a glimpse of seals lazing on the beach at Mutton Cove!

St Agnes

A quaint and picturesque seaside village, St Agnes also has two surfing beaches and several areas of unspoilt National Trust land, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Though smaller than Perranporth, St Agnes does offer a good selection of pubs and restaurants, as well as local shops. The South West Coast Path can be accessed from St Agnes if you want to explore Cornwall's stunning coastline, and a climb to the top of St Agnes Beacon will be rewarded with spectacular views.

"Brilliant"

Almost tempted not to write a review to keep this place secret!
Very comfortably furnished, lots bigger than it looks in the picture, great location in St Agnes, which is itself a great village.

Thank you for your fantastic comments. We love Gargoyle Cottage too :)

"Gargoyle Cottage, St Agnes, Cornwall - Excellent"

We stayed in Gargoyle Cottage, St Agnes, with our two grown-up sons and our eldest son's fiance. It is a beautiful property, very traditional from the outside. Inside the entrance and lounge areas are lovely with a big traditional fireplace. The kitchen along the back of the property was absolutely lovely, modern and containing all labour saving devices, including a fabulous American upright fridge-freezer. Upstairs there were three bedrooms, one with an en-suite. Outside there was a lovely garden area, quite secluded, containing a table and 6 chairs and a barbecue. Nearby there was a lovely pub, where we had a meal, and a bistro. We were within walking distance of the bay and St Agnes village. St Agnes is a good base for travelling to other parts of Cornwall. All in all a great property to spend a holiday in. We would highly recommend this property.
