The Cornwall region

Cornwall is found in the far South West of the Brish Isles; it truly is Land End!. The County of Cornwall (by the way England's second largest county) has many different geologies, geographies and climate whilst having a truely universal charm that attracts and captures the hearts of visitors from all around the world. Cornwall is nearly completely surrounded by water making it almost an island (many Cornish believe it should be, to reflect how distinctive it is from the rest of England) providing a rich environment of sun & fun, sport, be it wind, wave or powered, and food. Cornish caught fish and sea food is some of the best caught anywhere and finds itself on the tables of the finest resturants in Europe whilst leaving plenty for local consumption and sustainablity. Of course for those of a different palette, there is the famous clotted cream teas, served the Cornish way, jam on the scone first with the cream on top and the "Pasty", the complete miners meal cooked in a pastry wrap crimped at the edge to keep it moist, warm and in one piece.

However, best to get an appetite first, there are a whole plethora of pursuits and activities to help you to achieve this. From the North Coast, world famous for its surfing (wind, kite and good old wave) and rock climbing, to the South Coast renowned for its sailing and the slightly more gentle water sports. Whilst inland there is much to offer the cyclists, golfers and horse riders, as well as walks and fishing just about everywhere.

The climate in Cornwall is very different to many parts of England because of the effect of the North Atlantic Drift, which brings not only warm water from the West Indies but a gentler climate where it rarely gets too cold, but note with the trade winds come, well wind; particularly on those exposed parts of the peninsula further west.

Finally, you couldn't say anything about Cornwall and not mention it's history, myths and legends; some of which are true! But, I suggest to find out you come and see for yourselves.

St Agnes

St Agnes has a number of different areas, we warn you so that you don't think a local is sending you to another village to buy a paper. Trehannah Cottage is in Rosemundy. There is also 'Churchtown', 'Peterville' 'up on the Beacon' 'down at the Cove' or sometimes 'down at Aggie beach' (same place)

"Great accommodation, great location, great holiday"

Trehannah is a very comfortable, well fitted out holiday cottage, in the lovely town of St Agnes. We visited in August 2012, and had a great family holiday.
Trehannah is located at the top end of St Agnes, but the beach and all of the shops are within walking distance. St Agnes is on a hillside, so very young children or the elderly might struggle with the walk back up from the cove. The accommodation has all the necessary kit and some nice extras such a BBQ, dishwasher, games and DVDs and good shower. It feels like it has been newly redecorated / renovated.
We bumped into the owners in St Agnes and they are very friendly and helpful.
There is loads to do in St Agnes or in the area, and Trehannah has a very useful "fact file" which we found very useful and generally accurate in relation to good places to go and places to eat and drink. St Agnes was particularly friendly and we were really sad to leave, having had a great time.
The beaches in the area are all great, but Chapel Porth is particularly nice, very clean and great for families.
In summary, Trehannah is a great place to stay, and St Agnes is a great holiday destination.

"Trehannah was delightful - a wonderful place to stay for a holiday."

Trehannah was the perfect base for our holiday in St Agnes. The location is excellent - both quiet, yet within easy walking distance of shops - and the fabulous beaches, coves and coastal walks in the area meant that every day was a new adventure. The cottage itself is beautifully-decorated and well-appointed; it was very comfortable staying there with my husband and son. There were useful guides to the area in the house, which we appreciated (and used!) and we would definitely recommend Trehannah to other holiday-makers. We had a great time!
