A beautiful old stone barn lovingly converted to a high standard, set within 12 acres of a working small holding. Underfloor heating, a large sun patio, all modern appliances, and ample storage and parking will ensure a comfortable and peaceful stay. Outside there is a very large garden with trampoline, goalposts, swings and slide only shared with the owners children.
There are a choice of beaches within a 4 mile radius, and restaurants pubs and shops within 2 miles. We are deep in Poldark country - it was written on the beach at Perranporth and filmed around here. There is also an abundance of wildlife as well as the farm animals of sheep, pigs and chickens to see and hear. The only noise nuisances are the local owls.
This is a beautiful comfortable holiday home with complete seclusion yet within very close access of amenities and attractions for all the family: including surfing, walking, fishing, tennis, golf, sailing, Eden project, Truro, Falmouth, St Agnes, etc etc.

|Further details indoors|
Featuring original beams and thick stone walls the reverse level lounge diner is the highlight of a traditional old Cornish barn. It has a new microwave, a cooker, dishwasher, ipod dock, radio, tv and dvd player. There are 2 sofas that convert into double beds.
The master bedroom is en suite. There are 2 adult bunk beds in the smaller room, and a double bed in the third room, with fitted cupboards. There is a separate shower and toilet room. There is underfloor heating throughout. Large double doors lead onto a big sun patio. The utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer, and facilities for drying outside.
All bed linen and towels are provided.
The barn will sleep more than 6, but over that number will need to sleep on the sofa beds which are in the open plan area upstairs (see rental rates for costings of bedding for more than 6)
There is excellent mobile coverage, and free wifi. Due to the thick cob walls the wifi coverage can vary with the weather! We have tried a variety of techniques to improve the signal in the barn, with very limited success. If you are desperate for a constant good internet signal then I would use 3G. Alternatively guests are welcome to come into our house to use our signal by arrangement. Or leave your screens at home and relax!
|Further details outdoors|
Set within 12 acres, there is plenty of space for all. A large sun patio looks out over the lawns with managed garden beyond. The garden has some children's playthings that guests are welcome to use under adult supervision. The garden is only shared with us. All are welcome to explore the farm and its animals - pigs, sheep, chickens, ducks and our pet springer spaniel. There is a small (3 acres) area of woodlands, with a walk down through it to our stream.
There is a very large amount of parking, and a storage shed for bikes or surf boards.
Update on the farm Spring 2015
We've had 8 lambs from our new Hebridean sheep - they are growing well.
It has been really dry and clear and finally warming up. Great surf last week though.....
The chickens the fox left us are laying well now.
Changeover day is Friday, please vacate the premises by 10.00 a.m. on the day of departure, and arrive after 16.00, although you can easily leave luggage earlier by arrangement.
Bed linen and internal towels are provided (please see rental rates for details of bedding if more than 6 occupants). We suggest you bring your own beach towels.
For stays of 4 nights or less there will be an additional cleaning fee of £50.
No smoking inside the property please.
Note access is via a half mile farm track. We have had all manner of vehicles along it from tandems to cement mixers to porsche boxsters. It can take some adjustment to after smooth city roads though! There is another steep tarmac road that is shorter in the other direction.
Out of the peak season we are happy to talk to couples who may wish to pay less than the full rate which is based on a family using the barn.
The Cornwall region
Close to Eden Project, Truro and St Ives this is the perfect location for a summer stay in Cornwall.
* Just a few minutes drive from a number of safe, sandy beaches (Perranporth, Chapel Porth, Trevaunance Cove, Trevellas Porth and Porthtowan)
* Five minute drive from Perranporth resort and St Agnes village
* Easily accessible from the A30, we are within easy reach of attractions such as Eden Project (40 minutes), The Tate St Ives (30 minutes) and St Michael's Mount (40 minutes)
* Great and varied walking direct from the barn, the South West coast path is very close.
Perranporth and St Agnes are just 3km away - both have great beaches and amenities.
Perranporth has a spectacular 4 km long sandy beach with awesome surf and all the facilities of a busy tourist town.
St Agnes is a traditional Cornish fishing village, with quaint streets and a protected beach.
Linking the 2 is the coast path - accessible within about 15mins from the barn. This section of the path is fantastic, with vertiginous cliffs and a huge variety of wildlife.
Obviously within Cornwall, there are facilities to suit all types of interests - golf, surfing, windsurfing, flying, parachuting, fishing, walking, cycling, music, art galleries, restaurants, kayaking etc etc

"Lovely barn in fabulous location."
A very comfortable barn conversion in the middle of lovely countryside. Very well located to get to some amazing beaches; we loved Porthtowan and Trevaunance Cove for the surf. The barn had everything we wanted and use of Jim & Carolyn's enormous garden, which the children loved. We felt very welcomed and Jim was very helpful with where to go and the best surf! If we had been able, we would return this year but sadly already booked!

"This was our 4th visit and the best yet"
We love coming to Sunbury Barn, the accomodation is excellent and the location superb, great views, only 2 miles from the beach but so quiet and peaceful. The children love spending time in the huge garden, grounds and exploring in the woods. We cycle and walk the coast path straight from the barn, love all the animals and just have a great time. Booked for next year already
