From the dramatic coastline of the north to the sheltered bays in the south, from ancient moorland to soft river estuaries, surfers, walkers, sailing buffs, anglers, gastronauts and visitors simply seeking a break from a hectic world have discovered a fascinating, vibrant culture, food to die for and a naturally thrilling adventure playground.
There are many places of interest to suit all tastes from family attractions like Flambards, Eden Project and Lappa Valley Steam Railway to inspiring gardens like the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Trelissick. Cornwall has a wonderful Celtic history and a cultural side with many fantastic art, pottery and photographic galleries to see.
St. Agnes is a picturesque village on the north coast of Cornwall. Steeped in mining and sea fairing history, the village still retains a traditional friendly Cornish atmosphere and makes a wonderful base for your holiday, with four varied beaches and a central location for touring the rest of Cornwall. There are lots of dramatic coastal walks filled with breathtaking scenery and relics from the past.
St Agnes lies half way between Newquay and St. Ives making it an ideal location to visit the Cornish Attractions. The village has butchers, bakers, grocers, craft shops, hairdressers, post office, bank, surf shop and there are many fine pubs and restaurants with live music to choose from all in walking distance. Both Chapel Porth beach and Trevaunance Cove are superb surfing beaches for all abilities. There are surf schools and surf hire is available in the village. The beach is lifeguarded from May to October. The coastline has lots on offer from long golden sands to tidal rockpools and rugged cliffs.
St Agnes has a vibrant friendly local community which can be seen at its best during the village carnival every year in the first week of August.
