First of all we were overwhelmed by the beautiful nature driving 10 km by car from Acquasparta on a narrow way inbetween the mountains and the forests in an unhabited world. Finally we saw Macerino situated high on the rocks showing itself as a midcenturian place. The only street overthere was narrow turning high into a gate to a small marketplace. The reception from Mrs and Mr Maria and Franco Donata was overwhelmed and we felt us immediately at home and we settled us in their comfortable house. The house is completely restaurated in the old miscenturian style. There was a very big living room,3 very comfortable sleeping rooms,2 bathrooms and a terrace with a beautiful vieuw on the mountains and forests. The whole house is extremely clean and the owners Maria and Franco are always ready to help you,if problems or to advice you by daytravels in the environment. The stay in Macerino is for people which would like to be far from the busy world. No shops overthere, only a very small local pizzeria, and only a very few houses from local habitants. No other noisy tourists. An environment of where you can make far walks in beautiful nature of where you experience on each corner another beautiful sight. |

We were searching for a not very expensive place to stay in Umbria, because our idea was to travel around the place, stay there for just to sleep a night, but happened to be opposite: the house and village was so charming and lovely that we didn't wanted to leave. The apartment is very spacious, decorated in italian style with taste. Brilliant among many others. It was much, much better than we expected. |
