The Royal village of old Bolingbroke is the birthplace of Henry IV and the ruins of Bolingbroke Castle are just a short walk from Hope Cottages.

Locally there is plenty of scope for walking or cycling in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a few miles away nature reserves offer ample opportunity to enjoy the local flora and fauna.

There are many traditional market towns in the area; nearest is Spilsby. Louth, Horncastle and Alford are all worth a visit particularly on market days.

Lincoln Cathedral, Old Bishops Palace and Castle, in the historic heart of this beautiful city are a 50 minute drive.

If you wish to visit the coast, traditional seaside resorts and coastal nature reserves are 30 minutes away.
