The rooms inside the house are very loving and with handmade design of Fernando: painted windows, mosaics, sculptures, pictures and paintings.

The Agriturismo Agriart, surrounded by green hills, is located on a slope of the Aurunci Mountains, with a scenic view over the Gulf of Gaeta.

The Agriturismo has double rooms, rooms with three beds and a holiday apartment for four persons. The holiday apartment has two bedrooms, a well-furnished kitchen, a bathroom with a shower and a washing machine, further a veranda with an overwhelming scenic view over the sea.

You can book self-catering, bed and breakfast (with a rich breakfast) and half-or full board. The food is organic, 99% of them is self-cultivated. For breakfast, you can have home-made cakes and jams, seasonal fruit or dried fruit, yoghurt, orange juice and Italian coffee. The vegetables, the fruits, the olive oil and the olives, the eggs, the meat and the wine are all self- produced. For lunch and for dinner you can get delicious local specialities. Enjoy your meal!

Here you can enjoy on walking tours through the nature reserve, drive to one of the beaches nearby, visit the numerous archaeological excavations in the immediate vicinity, going to the thermos in Suio or just relaxing in the south Mediterranean sun.

Of course, you can take part in the Agriturismo, e.g. the olive- harvest, in the garden, picking the fruit…

Further, the Agriturismo is offering various courses and activities all year.

The Lazio region

The region of Lazio, rich of culture and nature, is situated in the centre of Italy.

Hilly landscapes with olive- and vine cultivations and the lakes Bracciano and Bolzena characterizes the north of the region. The culturally heydays are the famous Etruscan excavation and the sulphur-wells, where you can spoil your skin under the open sky.

Rome is the culturally and economically center as well as the capital city of Italy, located directly in the heartland of Lazio.

Mountains are in the south, rising above 2000 meters; lower, heading the coast the gentle green slopes are overgrown with orange-and lemon trees and olive-and vine cultivations.

The coast is uneven, sandy beaches alternate rocky cliffs, suggestive little bays and hills are covered with Mediterranean spontaneous vegetation (macchia mediterranea).

Thousands of years of history signed the landscape, increasing the cultural value of this land:  Excavations from the Roman and the pre-Roman time (Etruscan, Ausonia and Aurunci), medieval towns, monasteries and convents, make the stay in Lazio always an astonishing experience.

The region has many nature reserves and little protected oasis; very beautiful for short walks, hiking tours or trekking.

The Garigliano river natural park at the board with Campania offers multiple opportunities to come in contact with the lush river vegetation and the wild animals that inhabit along the banks.

Thermal springs are to find in the region of Viterbo, Tivoli and Fiuggi and in the south in Suio.

Located in the south of the region, The Pontine Islands join sensational nature, clear water, characteristic fisher towns and Roman culture. The main Island Ponza is also called pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The food and wine tradition might deserve its own chapter: fish and seafood on the coast; rustically cuisine in the countryside (meat and sausage, cheese and a lot of different vegetables), buffalo mozzarella, and olives of Gaeta are only some examples.

Lots of tasty and important wines are available for experts and curious tasters, thanks to the unique warm weather and the composition of the soil.

The area between south of Lazio and northern Campania, named Campania Felix by the ancient Roman, produces since centuries a particular wine, called Falernus, one of the many wine excellence of the area.

Spigno Saturnia

Spigno Saturnia lies in the Natural Park of the Aurunci Mountains (Mount Petrella 1533 metres) in the south of Lazio near the Gulf of Gaeta.

This area enjoys an extremely mild climate with the sea influencing even the more inland areas.

The vegetation is typical Mediterranean (myrtle, heather, thyme etc.).

Spigno Satuirnia is a typical town with two centers: Spigno Vecchio you find on the slopes of the Aurunci Mountains at 375 meters above the sea. The old centre has medieval caracter and is protected by hight montains with peaks up to 1500 metres (Petrella, San Angelo and Redentore) - Spigno Nuovo is build from 1946 in the valley near the clearway Formia-Cassino.

Because of the removal from the hills to the valley the ancient agricultural cultivation was reduced. But also today you still find genuine food produced in the hills around Spigno Saturnia: extra virgin olive oil, olives, vegetables, vine, fresh cheese like ricotta and mature cheeses like the typical Marzolina.

The most important monuments you find in Spigno Vecchio: the churches Santa Croce and San Gerardo and near the source di Capodacqua the remains of the old castle. The church San Giovanni Battista and the town hall you find in Spigno Nuovo.

The most important traditional events are “Il Giro delle Contrade”, the Rassegna del Folklore Internazionale – International folk festival, the festival of tripe and beans and the festival of chestnut and zeppole (doughnut traditionally made Carnival, typical for Southern Italy).
