Home description

Building of XIVth century, typical stone walls, white paintings, 55 m2, simply furnished, quite, pretty view, one bedroom, living room with lovely fire-place, fully-equipped (but small) kitchen, bathroom with shower.
10 minutes walk from the beach. Attached to the main square («la piazzetta»). Next to all shopping facilities, restaurants and bars. Our Guests are kindly asked to water my plant of “Alloro” (Laurel) outside near entrance.

The Lazio region

Mountainous area, beautiful sea (awarded as “the best sea” in Lazio). Major archaeological site (the villa of Emperor Tiberius). Excellent regional food. Renowned for the wine called "Cecubo" and "Falerno". You can easily reach the islands of Ischia, Ponza and Ventottene (take the ferry in Gaeta). It is wonderful to do horse-back riding on the beach during the Spring and the Fall time. It harmonically brings together the "southern" and the "roman" cultures.

Sperlonga area

Perfect for a relaxing summer holiday. Ideal for warm winters. It offers beautiful beaches and a number of sport resources (climbing, trekking, water-skiing, horse-back riding). The town was built on a fortress surrounded by steep cliffs on the sea. A suggestive bridge links the fortress to a small castle ("Torre Truglia"). Sperlonga is a characteristic white medieval village with narrow paths, colourful flowers and open views on the beautiful sea. The view is fantastic : on the left hand side, you can see the island of Ischia, on the right hand side, the islands of Ponza and Ventottene. Throughout the '70s, Sperllonga was considered one of the most fashionable sea resorts in Italy (Brigitte Bardot, Luchino Visconti, Raff Vallone, etc.) : during he months of June and September, Sperlonga still hosts a number of notorious and international visitors. The village is centred on the two main squares, one of which ("la Piazzetta") strongly recalls the Piazzetta of Capri. Sperlonga is also known for its Bars and Restaurants. Last but not least, ladies will love to discover a number of outstanding clothing shops.

How to get there

Fly to Rome then take the train to Fondi, then take the local Bus to Sperlonga; or
Fly to Naples then take the train to Formia, then take the local Bus to Sperlonga.

A "Welcome Package" will be provided at payment of deposit with a list of selected (by the owner - with independent and crytical opinion) fine restaurants, bars, beach resorts and suggested trips in the area.

"We had the most wonderful time at your apartment and want to thank you for your letting us experience such a fabulous vacation. We dined at two of the restaurants you suggested and had wonderful dinners at each. We walked through Spelonga and the beaches below including Tiberius' Grotto and museum - simply wonderful!! We enjoyed the fresh fruits and vegetables at the little market and bought our mozzarella du bufalo, cheese, bread, and of course the excellent wine across the walkway at the small deli. The gelatti (ice cream) and cappucino were out of this world - I couldn't pass by the store without buying one or two! It was such a wonderful place that we never did get to Rome!!! Oh well next time!" (May 2007).
