Villa | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 3
The Casetta del Lunario is located in the splendid town of Spello, which boasts ancient origins and, thanks to its enchanting beauty, is a member of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy (an association of a limited number of Italian villages which have maximized their historic and artistic patrimony and preserved a precious architectural harmony between the past and the present). The house is accessed from inside the town walls along a peaceful alley that leads to the old town centre made up of very well-kept alleys decked with flowers and filled with small lively squares, excellent restaurants and wine shops. The owner has renovated this delightful little house with a class and taste that set it apart, creating an elegant atmosphere that is also modern, cosy and colourful: from the alley it is necessary to pass through a covered passageway furnished with a bench, colourful cushions and a coat-stand, to reach the private garden (100 sq. meters) which overlooks the surrounding houses and the alley, with a table in the shade for outdoor dining and benches and loungers for relaxing in the sun, as well as the French doors that lead inside. From the windows it is possible to enjoy charming views of the alley, and from the balcony in the double bedroom there is a splendid view of the hills and the valley that stretch out from the edge of the town. The result is a beautiful, comfortable, small refuge of great charm equipped with all the necessary amenities (air conditioning in every room, satellite TV, washing machine/dryer). Guests arriving by car are provided with a special permit by the owner so that they can access the residents-only area and park around 50 m from the house. This accommodation is for non-smokers.
Bigger groups of up to 9 people can jointly book Lunario which has the same owner. It can accommodate up to six guests and is just a few steps away. The two houses are separated by a small wall and a little lane.
GROUND FLOOR: entrance from the alley into a covered space furnished with bench and coat-stand leading to the private Garden (100 sq. meters) with covered veranda for outdoor dining; French doors lead in to the living-room with fireplace and kitchen with dining table for 4; 1 small corridor with 1 single bedroom on the left, 1 bathroom with shower on the right, 1 double bedroom with panoramic balcony at the end.

The Umbria region
History, culture, natural beauty, crystal waters, dazzling beaches...and food to die for. Italy really does have it all. From Venice's architectural jewels in the north to Puglia's sun soaked olive growths in the south, there's something for everyone in this country of infinite variety.
Whether you choose to spend your time exploring the Adriatic Coast, with its white sands and dramatic promontories, or the gentle rolling hills of Umbria, where almost every view is reminiscent of a Renaissance painting, your time in Italy will be time well spent.
And let's not forget the Italian Lakes, whose serene and ageless splendour has beguiled visitors for centuries. As has the island charm and Sicily and Sardinia, two very different yet equally enchanting holiday destinations. Last, but by no means least, is there any other city on the planet that can match Rome for its combination of ancient history and cosmopolitan style?
Prepare to relax in the most enchanting surrounds you have ever seen...
In the heart of Italy, Umbria provides a green and unspoilt landscape that inspired painters and poets to capture its unique, timeless beauty. Rolling hills, verdant valleys, mountains and plains all combine to form a perfect setting that captivates and charms from the moment you visit.
Whether you're soaking up the natural and historical beauty found around Lake Trasimeno, Italy's largest central lake, or enjoying a stroll around one of the many characterful medieval towns, such as the UNESCO world heritage site at Assisi, you feel part of a rich historical pageant. If you're lucky, you may well stumble across a traditional festival that celebrates and shares age old traditions with Umbria's many visitors.
For foodies, the native truffles are a must as are the delicious assortment of cheeses, salamis and sausages – accompanied by any number of excellent regional wines.
